Hehehehe :teehee: He's still a WIP, but close to done.
It's Bertie/Bruce f/Sandra Polley's The Knitted Teddy Bear. He's little - he'll be maybe 9 " tall at the most when sewn up.
I still gotta knit him some cotton suspender shorts too. Urk.
Thank god for this site - I learned how to mattress stitch f/Amy's video, so now his chest doesn't look like he's post-op f/open heart surgery.
FO pic soon I hope!

He's going to be so cute. Please post your finished pictures. I'm itching to try a stuffed animal (especially a teddy bear).

Aaaww, somebody give this bear a hug ...
... 'cause he's so darn cute, and you can't see it but he's blushing  - he's a modest lil' feller, and he don't like being nekkid.
He isn't more than 7" tall seated!
I highly recommend him Mary Ann - but I'd bone up on seaming.
Off to knit his shorts!

Well, I think you have got me hooked. As much as I hate seaming, I think I'll give him a go. He is even cuter than I thought. You did a great job!!!!!

Isn't it part of the fascination of our craft that a few brown lines can bring a small bear to life! He's lovely. :)

Way-ell now (as we say in The South), Bertie's all dressed, and not feelin' all exposed and vulnerable anymore :cheering:
Thanks for all the props, everyone! I have so enjoyed knitting this little bear, and watching as he took on his own personality. (Yup, Susan ;)
Some notes to add: I've read a lot on how folks detest seaming, but I gotta say, I got a (perverse? HA! eh? oh never mind, I'm delirious f/lack of sleep and probably strep throat) satisfaction watching mattress seam seamlessly (double HA! :roflhard: ) draw up beautifully. Now. How 'bout the non-vertical ones??
Only thing left is to embroider my friend V's initials on his right (behind) cheek, and hand him over when I fly to CA at the end of this month. I'll be sad to see Bertie go, but I know he'll be well loved....
