I'm a relatively new knitter, but I'm always wanting to learn.

Anyway, here's part of the pattern:

"CO 20 sts.
Work 2 rows in stocking st.
Next row: K2, *yo, k2tog, repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.
Next row: sl1, purl to end.
***Next row: Knit across row picking up cast on sts and knitting them together with each st.***"

I understand everything except the row marked with asterisks. Can anyone help me with this? I would be very grateful!!

Thanks in advance,

It looks like you're making a hem or fold of some kind. Before you knit the next stitch on the needle, lift the cast-on stitch with your right needle and put it on the left tip. Then knit it together with the stitch. Do this all the way across.
