FO - Another Colorwork Attempt

I made this beanie loosely based on a pattern I saw on a piece of pottery. While not perfect I am happier with it than my first attempt at stranding.

I made a color-work (fair isle) hat that came out beautifully-I thought- till I discovered it wouldn't stretch to fit anyone!! OOPS. but it *is* pretty :teehee:

Thanks, actually the colorwork practice is part of my learning all of the techniques I plan to use when I eventually make a sweater.

It looks magnificent, Mason! Yeah, stranding is a challenge...one that I try to avoid! But, my DH has voiced the request for a hat like this one you just knit up!

My DH wants a hat that is Native American in flavor. (No, he is not NA by blood...but IN SPIRIT!) Like this pottery hat of yours...it has an ethnic flavor!

So, I guess that's it then...find a pattern repeat, or a piece of pottery, etc...and knit from it visually!

You are marvelous! And this hat is a work of art!
