Scrunchable scarf pattern used in an afghan?

When I first started knitting, I asked this forum what scarf patterns would be best for gifts. The scrunchable scarf (http://www.knitlist.com/96gift/giftsscarf.htm) pattern was suggested by several people. It was a hit at Christmas last year by everyone who received one!

Do you think that pattern could be used to make a snuggly afghan too? Would it be too heavy? I welcome all thoughts on it!

I think as long as you weren't using bulky yarn it would probably make a nice snuggly afghan!

Sounds lovely and snuggly maybe done in worsted weight.

I wasn't familiar with this pattern, and I'm always looking for good reversible scarf patterns, so thank you.

I think it would make a nice afghan--good texture!
