Hi all!

I recently discovered this pattern on mochimochiland.com. It is a godsend, as I had a lot of little scraps of yarn and no idea what to do with them. Now I have a handful snail friends! They are magnificent! My mom says that I should make a little house for them, but I have no idea what a snail house should look like.

Incidentally, the afghan some of the snails are sitting on is zig-zag from freevintageknitting.com (I was thrilled to find this pattern online!). It was knitted by my grandmother several decades ago, so it isn't my FO, but it's a FO nonetheless. Just thought I'd mention that because the people here notice things like that. Every bed in my house is covered by one of these warm wonderful afghans. And soon every afghan will be covered with lovely little snails!

An upside-down flowerpot with a triangular piece "missing" from the rim might make a good snail house! Could be a real flowerpot or a knitted one. (If you had asked what a slug house looked like, I'd have said "My vegetable plot!")
I love the lemmings on that site, too!

Hmmmmm... Well maybe what I'm looking to make then is not a snail house, but a snail congregating area where they can all just be together.

Those are so cute. They could also stay dry under a mushroom.

Cute little guys. What could be more cuddly than a snail? LOL My kids used to adopt slugs when they found them in the orchard when we were picking apples. We only have a cute little slugs here, not the great big icky ones. :-)

I agree with Jess_Hawk, snails carry their houses with them, so they are quite free and independent little creatures. But I do think they would like to sit under a mushroom, and even the upside down flower pot might be attractive to them, to protect them from the sun. Yeah, I think they would like that.
