Is $10 too much-or not enough? How much would you pay?

They are lovely! I would say not too much. I would check into retail stores as they have something similar and see what their asking price is.

Love these bracelets. Where could I get a pattern to make one? I've been knitting lately ( a new skill for me ) but know how to crochet. Thanks in advance.

I use size 6 beads and pearl cotton crochet thread. String all your beads on the thread first. Then, with a tiny crochet hook (steel 8 is what I'm using right now) crochet 5 . Close a circle with a slip stitch. Put the hook through the first stitch in the loop. Move up the first bead and do a sc. Put the hook in the next stitch, move up a bead, do a sc. You'll put 5 beads in the circle. I Just keep doing this, round and round, until the "rope" is about 8.5 or 9 inches long. I slip the last stitch and cut with a long tail. Then I weave the thread through the beads to join the two ends together. (I got a Bead Crochet book and adapted it from there. I am good at small stuff, but I have to tell you, I've tried teaching other people how to do it, and they just find it easier to buy mine-or hope for a gift!) I have made myself one with a bunch of Swarovski crystals and it's really pretty! Good luck!!

Thanks so much. I'll have to give it a try. You are so kind to share your pattern. I'll have to pull out my steel crochet hooks. Haven't used them in awhile. This should be fun and challenging at the same time.

Those are really pretty! How long do they take to make, and what is your cost for thread and beads? From the photo and pattern, using such a small hook...it must take quite some time. I know we can never put a per hour price on things, but I hope your selling price can represent the intricate work involved.

Honestly, I can make the rope in an evening, watching tv. When I'm going to make a bunch in a row, I string the beads and leave them in a bowl until I'm ready to crochet. The hardest part is the first 2 rounds, cuz it's hard to hang onto it! They probably cost me $4 in beads and pearl cotton. I am a teacher and they are very popular at school. Lots of my colleagues have several in different colors, as do I. I am very tempted, though, to make a whole bracelet in Swarovski crystal beads. It would be stunning!!
