araw weight

Hello, it's been a long time since I was here. I've been doing sewing for the grands. I have a knitting pattern that calls for aran weight. Is that the same as worsted?

Technically, it's a wee bit heavier, but you can use worsted for it. May have to go up to a size 9 needle.
