I've got a girl who i am wanting to make something for her, for valentine's day, or anytime really soon. Is there anyone who can help me get some patterns? I'm hoping for some kind of 3D heart or something cute like that. Any patterns anyone knows of?

I did a quick search, and came up with lots of heart themed projects ... hopefully some of these will help give you some ideas!

Glad you found some of the links helpful!

The directions you're asking about sound like instructions for a crocheted project rather than a knitted one ... I thought I only provided links to knitting patterns, but perhaps I'm mistaken. Or maybe you found another pattern. Personally, I'm not overly familiar with crochet so I'm not sure if I'll be much help. "5sc" sounds like "do 5 single crochet stitches" to me ... perhaps someone here who does crochet can provide more specifics. If no one provides an answer in this topic, you could try asking what it means in the crochet forum here on KH.
