Party & Little Flowers Scarf Help

Newbie knitting addict here!
I searched the forum and can't find any help with this pattern.

My silly question is about binding (tightly) to make the bell ends. I can't find any tutorial demonstration on how to. I assumed to end the scarf I will just bind off tightly but how do I bind my starting edge? Also what size crocheting needle do you use to bind?

They don't mean making the cast on and bind off tight - it says "cast off loosely". What you do is wrap the ends a few inches from the edge with the one yarn and sew the edge to that wrap. That's the 'binding' they're talking about.

Thank you! Casting off was easier than I was thinking it would be. Still working on getting the bell like ends to work out, just need more patience and practice. *lol* I can't believe I haven't tried knitting before it's so much fun.
