Hi I'm looking for a very special Christmas stocking pattern from the early 50's. My childhood Christmas stocking is a great pattern that my mother made for all the kids in the family. Sadly the pattern was lost and I have not been able to recreate or find a replacement pattern. The stocking body is green with a cream heel and toe and the face of Santa on the side with the owners name knit into the top of the stocking as a cream band. Santa's face is spectacular - with flesh color cheeks, black eyes, red lips and white angora for the beard, eyebrows and pompom on Santa's red hat. Now that I am a grandmother I would like to make the same keepsake stocking for my grandchildren. If anyone has such a pattern or knows where i can locate one I would appreciate the help.
Thanks!

Try Ravelry and search "santa christmas stocking" under Patterns. They have several that may come close to what you want.
The Ravelry site is free to join if you haven't already.

If you're on Ravelry there are a couple, but this one is the cutest.

The pattern is here in one of these booklets, but unfortunately they don't show the detail like the above link.
