Hello Everyone :waving:
My daughter has been BEGGING me to knit her some tights. She saw some in the Vermont Country Store Catalog but I am NOT willing to pay the price they are asking for them! I am wondering if anyone knows where I can find a patten for some tights? I have searched many websites (ravelry, knittingpatterncentral, favecrafts, knitty) just to name a few to no avail. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, or if you have a pattern that I could use that would be great!
Thanks so much

Wish I could help, but I'm on the same quest as you. I wanted to make black wool tights in fisherman's ribbing, but I can't seem to find any patterns. Do you have a picture of the tights that your daughter wanted? If you can find a pattern that has the basic layout of how to make tights (i.e., how to make the legs, waist, etc), you can choose another stitch that you want to make them in, take a gauge swatch of your stitch and then modify the pattern accordingly.

I found this page, which while not a true pattern, does give you an idea of how to make tights.
Alternatively, You could start with a pattern for ribbed socks that you like and then work your way up.

Check out Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitter's Almanac, page 95.

You checked Ravelry? I found some there:
not all of these are really tights, but quite a few are. Variety of sizes, too.

How old is your daugheter? Anyways old enough to beg :o)
Here are knit kids' pants:
they are shown on a baby but the pattern goes to 5 to 6 years.
Just add sock heels and foot section of a sock.
an adult size is here:
maybe you can figure out a size between them, that will do it.
