Problem with knitting instructions

Hello Everyone,

I'm a beginner and having problems with the following instructions:

- Cast on 15 sts
- Next row: K2, inc1, K6 then turn, leaving rem sts on needle.
- Work on 10 sts just knitted only.
- Next row: P to end.

For me, K2 + inc1 + K6 sums up to 9. I have only 9 sts to knit.

What am I doing wrong?

Look to see if they mean kfb for inc1 instead of m1; some patterns don't specify too clearly. But that would work as doing kfb for inc1 would leave 2 sts on your needle for it, not one.

In this case they want you to increase in a st. You should k2, increase by knitting into the front and back of the next st and then k6. You'll be working on 9sts plus the 1 increase for a total of 10 st before the turn.
