My Mother-in law gave me an antique tool that belonged to my husband's great aunt. I was told she used it in knitting.
Can anyone tell me how to find out what the object is? I've been knitting and crocheting for 40+ years and I have never seen anything like this.
It is wooden, 7 1/2 inches long. Very hard to describe.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks:grphug:

You need to post a photo, please.

I agree. . . a picture is necessary.

Hi!
I'd love to be here more but I lost track of all the threads. But I am not lost and gone (just for anybody who know me here)

I would love to help identify it. With a picture it would definitely be easier but I have an idea.
Check out this blog and video (http://gansey.blogspot.com/2008/03/video-clip-of-better-way-to-knit.html) and tell me if that is the thing you have. Maybe it looks like this (http://gansey.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-08-25T14%3A46%3A00-07%3A00), too?

In words: my assupmtion is a sheath... am I right?
