This Saturday evening, December 31st, our online party will last 4 hours (from 11:30 PM to 3:30 AM, Eastern US time).

Prizes will be given at 12:00 and 12:30 for each time region (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific). I will be drawing names out of a hat to determine the winners. The prizes will be random, so it's the luck of the draw what you'll get!
Winners do not have to be online at the time of the drawing. I will notify you by private message in the forum if you are a winner.

If you want to join us in knitting the pocket, just bring some size 7 or 8 knitting needles, and worsted weight yarn in 4 contrasting colors. (The original project is being made with KH Logo colors: Purple, Red, Yellow, and White.) Gauge is not important for our project.

Last year, we had a wonderful time during our party, talking, knitting together, and sharing stories about our New Year celebrations all over the world.

Oooooh, terrific! I think I have a variegated/ombre yarn with red/orange yellow. I know I have purple and white yarns. That's definite.

Books. "While you're wishing, you may as well wish big." I heard that a lot when I was a kid, but whether it was my mom quoting her mom, or some other older relative (dad quoting his mom, maybe?), I can't remember ATM.

My "big wish"? Crossed Fingers My name will be drawn and I will win a book with the word "Sheep" in its title! (There are two such books.)

But just knowing that others are doing the same thing at the same time will be lots of fun! I've done Internet quilting parties before, but this is the first year I've known how to knit, so this will be my first Internet knitting party. :woohoo:

It's a little folding pocket, just big enough to hold a few knitting tools. It is about the size of a deck of cards when it's folded, so it should be easy to grab and throw into your knitting bag or purse, as you go out and about.

I think this might be my favorite design, out of all the New Year KAL projects we have made so far. It's simple and fun, as usual.

I am finishing up the pattern now, so I can post it here for you. Stay tuned!

One thing is for sure, I will be HAPPY to say goodbye to 2011. This has been a wicked year for me. Wicked as in BAD, not in good. But, I'm stoked for 2012. It's bound to be an improvement. :thumbsup:

Last night, I bought a few treats at the grocery store, and I still need to buy a bottle of bubbly for my virtual toast with all of you to bring in the new year. I will have to stick with sparkling grape juice, because I have to play organ and piano at church the very next morning. Ha! Need to keep my wits about me.... :teehee:

Right now, I am trying to write up the pattern for our cute little knitting tools pocket. I had it all written up on my Samsung Galaxy Tab, but the file is too sophisticated for my old PC to understand. So, I'm typing it all over again, while occasionally touching the screen on my Tab to keep it awake. :roll:

I had to use size 35 knitting needles, and a size S crochet hook, because the yarn was too thick for anything else.
