CaroliNE Tank instructions seem very confusing

Hi everyone, I have finished more items. The Lillian Tank, The Claire Shawl and Star Crossed Slouchy Beret. I will post pictures soon. Now I would like to knit The Caroline Tank but the directions have me stumped

CABLE PAT (Worked over 8 sts)
Rows 1, 3, 5 and 7 (RS): Knit 8.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl 8.
Row 9: CB8.
Row 10: Purl 8.
Rep these 10 rows for Cable Pat.

For the back it says: Cast on 84 stitches then

Row 2: P1, (k1, p1) twice, k9(9-9-9-9-11), * work Row 2 of Cable Pat over 8 sts, k8(10-13-17-21-24), rep from * twice more, work Row 2 of Cable Pat over 8 sts, k9(9-9-9-9-11), p1, (k1, p1) twice. Work even in pat as established until piece measures 14” from beg, end on WS.

I tried to write out what the first 2 rows would be but I am completely stumped as it seems the cable pattern has rows too. For Row 1 I deciphered it to mean:
K1, p1,k1,p1,p9, now I am confused as Row 1 cable pattern says knit 8, The CB8 is listed in row 9 of cable pattern but I don't see it in Row 1 or 2 of the tank pattern and that is the main piece.

Can someone please maybe decipher the directions of what Row 1 and 2 of the Tank should read? I would appreciate it so much.

Rows 1 and 2 of the sweater tell you what sts to do and where to place the cable pattern. Rows 1 and 2 repeat and at the same time you progress with the cable pattern rows. So you do:
row 1 of back, row 1 of cable
row 2 of back, row 2 of cable
repeat row 1 of back, row 3 of cable
repeat row 2 of back, row 4 of cable
and so on.
When you get to row 2 of sweater, row 10 of cable, the next row will be row 1 of sweater, row 1 of cable.
The actual cable cross is only going to occur on row 9 and every time you repeat row 9 of the cable. The other rows will be the knits or purls as the cable pattern tells you. Keep track of which cable row you're on so that the cable crosses are evenly spaced as you knit up the sweater. It's a great looking pattern with a nicely spaced cable. Good luck with it.
