I have a pattern that tells me to knit in the stitch below. When I do it all falls off. Can you help me?

I think the top st is supposed to "fall off" and them be "caught" with the bottom st. I think K1 into st below is supposed to create a small eyelet hole. As long as the entire column doesn't continue to unravel, I think it's okay.

I'm just guessing though :??
