I have a pattern for a poncho that tells me to cast off 30 and then cast on 30 in the next row.

http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-prettyPoncho.html

I have tried the slip st cast on and it ends up way to stretchy for the corresponding cast off. I tried a couple of the other methods for cast on (from the video's here on this site) but just didn't get in within the context of the pattern. Help...

P.S. I have been knitting for 4 months all because I found your video's on this site. Thanks so much for all the excellent help. I think the Sacred Harp music is very cool too!

very glad to be with other knitting lovers! :cheering:

Amy has a good video describing the type of cast-on you are looking for:
