haha, umm yeah I am. Hopefully I will have this i-cord done before I finish off my first bottle.

Now, see-this is where I wish I had Hildie's computer graphic skills, so I could come up with a pic of what an I-cord would look like when produced in an inebriated state. :roflhard:

oooh I'm not a cheap date... It will take more than this one bottle to make me knit like a crazy lady.

Nothin' like spending a nice Friday evening among new friends all over the country and globe!

Ingrid... GO TO YOUR ROOM.

Honey, with my schedule, that's not a threat! I was in Toys R Us earlier this evening looking for Sand Lot 2. I turned around and the You-Know-Who section was behind me. I though of you and we've never met! ;)

Silver
07-15-2005, 10:21 PM
But what are you drinking? I mean, a bottle of beer is one thing, a bottle of vodka is another. :roflhard:

07-15-2005, 10:24 PM
:inlove: I feel so loved.

Silver... wine. Oooh I wish I had vodka.... but crap! The only place in this town to buy alcohol in this town closes and 9

C'mon over. I have wine, beer, vodka, whiskey, tequila, rum, sangria and some little bottles of mudslides. :happydance:

Oh I gotta be in on this party. Already had a beer tonight, so guess that's what I should stick with. How's that saying go again?

"Liquor before beer and you're in the clear;
Beer before liquor and you'll never be sicker."

Yup, got any MGD?

hard before beer, you're in the clear
beer before hard, you're in the yard.

after my bottle of 2-buck chuck last night, I think I'd better lay off. I'm drinking water.

I'm drinking too - let this be a reminder to y'all. Knitting doesn't work after midnight too well. I have already ripped out all 8 rows of my Aran Afghan and decided to just drink.

Sounds like great fun--except for the drinking part. Alcohol just makes me tired; I'm much more fun without it. And innebriated people are not very entertaining unless you're innebriated too.

Oh yeah, and Rum....Rum is my nemisis! It doesn't just make me tired, it makes me utterly depressed! (temporarily). I can't even go near it! It's very bizarre.

So y'all will have to party without me.

Oh yes, and don't forget to pair up with a Designated Knitter. Drinking and Knitting can be catostrophic! *ahem Nik. Wasn't it you that dipped your knitting into your wine that time?* Be Warned!

07-16-2005, 01:45 PM
:roflhard: yeah, the whole knitting/wine thing can be a problem. My advice...drink only clear liquids while knitting!

I thought that would NEVER be a problem until I was knitting whilst drinking a bit of red wine the other night. Fortunatley nothing was ruined, but lesson learned! :)

I agree Amy, social sips are nice, some of the gals I work with go out on occasion and I have once or twice, but once they get going, they become a bunch of yellers! No fun at all! They're hard enough to bear at work as it is... soooo I scope out craft stores for relaxation. :happydance:

And innebriated people are not very entertaining unless you're innebriated too.Really? I think that is when they are the most entertaining!

And no, that was not me! I have never dipped! But my DH did make me sit under a blanket with my glass of wine incase I spilled  I didn't. I actually only had 2 glasses last night. I had red wine, and red wine just isn't a get drunk kind of wine (for me).

Amy,

You're thinking of Egeria. She had (still has) it in her signature.

"Never drink and knit. Ever."

Vodka and tonic. Not a lot of calories in it either. You must be 18 years or older to do it too ;)

LOL....yep! But I'm feeling MUCH better now. Maybe that's why I have so many big gaps in my knitting.

Low in calories and I can knit with it? I'm in! And plenty enough past 18 to do it!

Sara

No way! Silver is well prepared in case of a hurricane! She also has lots of friends to entertain, I'm sure. I bet she has friends who hang out at her house all the time just so that they can drool over her very fine DH.

I'm going to go chase my portly DH, who greatly resembles Robin Williams, around the kitchen now. He's making dinner. It's one of his life goals to be able to make a great pizza. He hasn't succeeded, yet.

Hi...I'm Silver..and I'm a DRUNK!
I hardly ever drink, myself. But we do entertain a bit. However, most of the hard liquor is left over from a wedding a year and a half ago.

So.. no. I'm hardly a "drunk". I won't pretend that I don't drink, but just to put it in perspective, one beer and I'm rather tipsy. :roflhard:

Ooh, but are any of you lucky enough to have a second fridge just for beer? We have a keg in there pretty much all the time. Not that I love beer all that much, but my DH does. He brews it himself. And he sure does take up a lot of closet space with those brewing supplies. Makes me think I need to clear out some of it for my knitting stash...

kemp

That's cool Mer! My dad does the home brew thing and the resulting beer can be very tasty. We actually put in a beer tap in our bar area when we remodeled, but it rarely has beer unless we're having a party.
