I want to substitute something from knitpicks for this project: http://www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com/archives/000079.html

The yarn mentioned is a bit out of my price range!
Any ideas, my lovely knitpix experts??? I think I really want varigated yarn to bring out the st pattern, but having a hard time finding the right thing at knit picks!

Andean Silk? (http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/yarn_display.aspx?itemid=5420126)

THe only thing is you arent going to get the GAWGEOUS colorways that the Manos has....although, you COULD try choosing THREE colors and knitting with 2 held together, alternating WHICH two you hold together throughout the scarf? Then you'd need a thinner yarn....maybe Andean Treasure (http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/yarn_display.aspx?itemid=5420107) then?

Manos is a heavy worsted weight. If you're going to sub by using two strands of a knitpicks yarn, I suggest buying one ball of each first and testing them for gauge.

Otherwise, check out the Yarndex list of heavy worsted wool yarns (http://www.yarndex.com/search.cfm?action=search_adv&ss=Heavy+Worsted+Wool&wt_1=&wt_2=&wt_3=on&wt_4=on&wt_5=&wt_6=&yarn_weight_id=49&fiber_id=7&CFID=3588744&CFTOKEN=9600509).
