I was doing laundry and heard the door open and thought, "What's Lonnie doing home @ this time of day?!" He calls out, "What are you doin'?"..I reply, "Laundry, what are you do...?!" as I look up to see him standing there with this huge 16"x19" HDTV/monitor combo for the computer and he is sweetly saying..."I thought that you might like this when you were on computer with your knitting friends and looking at knitting stuff." I of course was  stunned and said, "uh...WOW, YES I WOULD!!" And I was correct...it's like you are in the LYS looking around and you can reach out and touch the yarn!! I have the VERY BEST HUSBAND in the whole world :D!!
So, I'm off to order some addi's and then go window shopping :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

Wow! What a fantastic suprise. My husband already holds the title of best husband in the world, but if I had to pick a runner up, Lonnie would definitely get the title ;)

They are WONDERFUL (they being my sweet man and this HDTV/monitor)!! I have been cruising through the aisles of LYS all over the world since he set this up...it looks so real that I can imagine the smell & feel of the yarn....IT'S WAY COOL 8-)
LOL, then I realized that I had gotten virtually no knitting done bc I was daydreaming about it ;)

You lucky girl!! I am green, but very happy for you!!

Hey, is he available for coaching?? I have a pretty great hubby already, but in the gift department he's the pits (and believe me, he knows it, this isn't something I am saying behind his back at all!) In fact, last year, he not only didn't get me a birthday gift (I've gotten used to that) He COMPLETELY forgot :( I was soooooo sad.

So, what do you say? Coaching?? Pretty please??

Maybe Amy could set up an email reminder service to send to the husbands (and wives for you you men out there) of KH'ers. Something like:

Dear Husband (or wife) of user at knittinghelp.com,

This email has been sent to remind you that your wife's birthday (christmas, easter, flag day, no holiday, etc) is in two weeks. Every wife should get a little something for her birthday, right? Here are a few ideas for gifts your wife will absolutely love.

1. Yarn. "but my wife already has so much yarn!" you might say. Trust us, there is no such thing as too much yarn. Your wife will always want more yarn even if it seems like there is no possible way she can knit the yarn she has in the next 40 years. Don't feel comfortable picking out yarn? The many helpful members of knittinghelp.com would be happy to pick out the yarn for you.

2. Yarn. Didn't you read number one? Buy yarn.

3. A large HDTV/computer monitor screen (so your wife can virtually surf online yarn stores).

4. Did I mention she might like yarn?

Sincerely,

The helpful people at knittinghelp.com

P.S. Do not wait utnil the last minute. You have two weeks. If you order something now, your wife will actually get it in time and be impressed you thought ahead.

Thanks everyone, I do have a sweetie. He just  blushes and says 'girls' when I've told him that 'coaching lessons' have been requested.
Kemp...I think that you have quite an idea going there and each person can have her list available with website included & product #, etc!
LOL, when we were 1st married I used our anniversary date as the retrieval code for messages on our voice mail....little did I know at that point that I married a :inlove: man :inlove: who never forgets anything ;)
I'm a lucky, very blessed and spoiled girl :D

Oh, Cheryl!!! This would be PERFECT!!! Heck, I am not proud, I will even send it MYSELF   well, maybe incognito would be better :)

Now, I will just have to figure out a way to get him to check his email, I think last time he checked was a few years ago, when a friend asked if he got a joke he sent him

It could be worse though, at least he's very loving in other ways, just doesn't have a romantic or gift giving bone in his body. <sigh>

Rebecca, he is much too modest. He really is something special :happydance: :cheering: :balloons: :present:

OMGosh, he surprised me AGAIN today!! I have the list of Add's that I want by the computer (I check them off as I order them; or I will forget what I've gotten when..lol!) and the Ebay's Store is in our 'favorite' list on our My Ebay page ...He had been working at the computer for some time, doing DVD, Ipod and all sorts of stuff and I was knitting socks. As I come walking in he said, "Honey, I ordered some of those needles on your list" :inlove:  I'm the luckiest girl ever
I must say, yet again...that I have the best :inlove: man :inlove: in the universe :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:
