SUSIE!!! Congrats on your pretty sweter--and for the nerves you have to try it!! I still haven't got mine up to start a sweater--and I've been knitting much longer than you have!! Is that a free pattern?? And was it pretty easy?? I love it--I have a 16 month-old grandosn I'd love to try and knit one for! I know he'll outgrow it--but I think he'd be very UNFORGIVING of mistakes at his young age. :happydance:

Yay for you and what a great job on your first sweater!!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

SUSIE!!! Congrats on your pretty sweater
Thanks for saying the sweater is pretty and I'm VERY sure you could do it.
Was it easy????? Well, no. I'm new remember. It was frustrating at times but with emailing here at the forum, my teacher and going to class I go straightened out mostly. LOL.
It isn't a free pattern. I don't recall for sure what it was. I think I paid $4.50. I found it on line at:
I actually like pattern #16 better. I think I may do that for me. :)
12-07-2005, 09:12 PM
Congratulations, a great accomplishment and it looks great. You added the stripes on your own? they match perfectly. Good job.
12-07-2005, 09:16 PM
The teachers at the yarn shop told me 'if' I wanted to add stripes to go up 13 or so rows from the bottom because of the roll and then add every 9 rolls but try to be consistent so that is what I did and when you sew together you can adjust. :)
Thanks for liking it,
Hokie SMokes, Bullwinkle! Great job on the sweater! Isn't recognition nice? And I'm glad to see that you're willing to be adventurous and add your own modifications to a pattern. That's excellent!

LOL, you are too funny.
Yes, it is fun to have everyone happy for me and the encouragement is great.
