I have no idea, but in my head I've been saying it the first way. I don't think I've ever actually said it out loud. Why is it called that? Is it the "pattern" or a style of wrap?

I listened to a podcast of the designer..

It's Clap-O-Tee (it's French :D)

I say clap-o-TEE but only began after being corrected after months of saying clapoTIS.

just don't be like me and yell across the LYS to my friend., "Hey! This would be really good for your clap!"

A clapotis is on my after-Christmas list. I think I might have to be a copycat and do one with Karaoke, like Rebecca- it was so pretty!!!

Clap! :roflhard: :roflhard:

The nice thing about typing everything is that you don't have to worry about mispronouncing anything. I say Clapotis--you can read it anyway you want! ;)

I'm thinking a clapotis after Christmas - after I've examined all the knitting loot I've begged for - surely they'll pay attention ...right?

Thank you! Thank you!
I'll be appearing all week...
Friday's special is Meatloaf... Don't forget to tip your waitress..

By the way.. I've been saying it Clap-Oh-Tis... But then, I am from ND and have been lectured by someone from Portland (when relaying a flower order for FTD) that it's Oreg'n NOT OreGONE.. Beh, whatever, tomato/tomahto.

P.S Honestly, I though Hildie's syphillis or ricketts or whatever the clapotis she said.. (oh yeah, gonnorhea) was the best!!!!
Right back atcha Hil!

KK, want me to get smelling salts... KK? somebody get me a glass of water.. ;) [/u]

I have been laughing so hard at you NASTIES that my co workers are looking at me like I'm the weird one. If they only knew that a bunch of nice knitting ladies were so hilariously perverted. Sheesh! I need to go outside for some fresh air to stop the giggling.

"911,... clapotis ...do you have an.. giggle giggle ...emergency?"

 :roflhard:

KellyK

OH APRIL....you do NOT have a job where giggling is encouraged, do ya?? :roflhard:

aprildavis99
12-14-2005, 02:11 AM
Oh yeah...we giggle...giggle like you have never seen sober people do. It just doesn't sound so good when someone tells you their mother is choking then there is a thunderous roar of laughter in the background

Of course, there are the calls that are just begging for laughter...and alas! we must stifle it.

For example,

operator: Why are you and your wife fighting?
caller: She said I watch too much porn. By the way, did you know that you have the most perfect phone sex operator voice I have ever heard?

or

caller: I just got out of jail for drunk driving and wanted to know where my vehicle was towed to?
operator: It was towed to "blah blah blah", but I think they're closed at this hour (7am).
caller: Oh, ok. And do you know of any bars open right now?

Come on People! Laughter gets us through the day! But I must say, you ladies would fit in perfectly with the ladies I work with. Funny, spunky, and often in the gutter. :roflhard:

KellyK
12-14-2005, 08:53 AM
Yeah....I know whatcha mean. When you work around serious business, sometimes if ya dont laugh, you'll cry.

Why would you ask WHY they were fighting? :?? Do you REALLY want to know?

I don't but it could be a safety issue for the officers...for instance. We were fighting because she lost the remote: not violent..except during football season
We were fighting because he hit my son: violent
We were fighting because I said she couldn't buy more yarn: watch out!
:roflhard:
