I've used WOTA for felting, but I'm wondering how Cascade 220 compares. Doe s it felt about the same? Any problems with colors running? Does the white felt okay?

I know, I know.. test it, but before I buy I'd like some opinions. ;)

I haven't felted with it yet, but it's regarded as a great felting wool. From what I understand the white does NOT felt though.

220 felts great. I think felting duration, so far for me, has been about the same as WOTA.
I haven't noticed any color bleeding into the water when using 220. I had 1 pair of WOTA clogs bleed into the water,
haven't bought white. the lightest 220 I've used is a bright lavendar.
honestly I'd use WOTA all the time if they had more colors, since 220 yards of WOTA is $3.58 compared with 220 at my LYS for $6.60.

Is Cascade have bulky weight? I'd like to take advantage of this sale for my bag I'm going to knit but it calls for bulky weight wool.

I used 220 for my clogs--no running. I haven't felted WOTA, so I can't compare times, but the clogs didn't take too long, at all.

Cascade 220 is worsted weight...they do have a bulky weight yarn, Cascade 109, which is $5.25/109 yards at Little Knits. :D

The cascade clogs I made felted in less than HALF the time of any WOTA clogs Ive made. Ive never had color bleeding with either. Cascade was a smidge thicker IMO, as well.

If cost is the issue, go with the WOTA. Its FINE.

Does WOTA felt if it has Alpaca in it? I have to have bulky weight.

WOTA doesnt have alpaca in it....its 100% wool. Knitpicks does have some yarns with alpaca in them...and any animal fiber will felt.

OK...sorry I was getting all these yarns confused....I need bulky for my project so it looks like Knitpicks only has one that will work...Sierra...and it has 30% Alpaca.
