Has anyone ever ordered from Smiley's? They have some pretty tempting prices, minimum order $30 (not that that would be difficult)....just curious about your experiences.

I have ordered from Smiley's several times. It is pretty fast delivery for the low price. Also, Trudey sends me emails whenever something I have bought before goes on sale. I recommend them!

I was just looking at Smileys - and I have a question. Is 15.99 considered a good deal on 50g of 100% cashmere?

I've always wanted a cashmere sweater - but I can't tell if the orig retail prices are inflated to make the "sale" price look reduced. The yarn I'm looking at in particular over at Smiley's is the Filatura Lanarota.

I can't speak for the cashmere, but other prices that I've compared have been honestly represented. I think that a lot of their yarn is discontinued because I've had problems finding it elsewhere, but when they are selling a yarn available elsewhere, they list the price realistically, I think.

good questions guys--Ingrid (I think?) recently posted a link to Smiley's b/c of a sale they are having...I felt like the prices were good--it was the $30.00 that held me back. $30.00 always seems like a lot until I actually go through the process of purchasing yarn for a project...when the cashier tells me my total is $115.00, I start to wonder why I even blinked at Smiley's ridiculous minimum...:)

I am guessing that they are either close outs or overstocks - so make sure you buy enough of whatever because it might not be there next time. I am trying not to impulse buy, to think about what I might use yarn for before I randomly order!!!!
