I just won an auction for 14 Skeins of Noro Kureyon! I am going to be in booga bag heaven here soon! The seller still has more, if any of you are interested. Her seller name is alyval.

Congrats!! :D Me and my mom were looking at knitting needles a few moments ago! Maybe I can convince her to get some wool yarn too :P

Oooo... You also MUST post pictures of the finished booga bag!! :)

What colors did you get?

I got 5 skeins #40, 4 skeins #124, and 5 skeins #128... and I do have pictures of those colors. With this buy and the 2 skeins I got from Roxanne, I'll be set! - well, until I start looking at yarn again. I have no will power!

I've been following several of her auctions. I've got my eye on some Noro for a couple of bags, myself.

Good score! Great that you could get it in different colors, too -- most of the big lots of Kureyon I see are for all one color. What would I do with 16 skeins of the same color?!? (Get really bored, that's what!)

Ebay is just BAD!

Oh, I know the yarn swift woes... There was a beautiful old world swift that was just amazing... I was opening act for it, the highest I'd go was 20, and the thing eventually sold for 150!

I'm terrified of buying on ebay! What if it turns out to be wretched? Knowing me (and I think i do) I'd pay 50 for stuff worth 10, and the seller would be rubbing their hands in evil glee!

All in all, I don't think I did too bad. 14 skeins of Noro Kureyon for 90 dollars. I love payday. DH and I have money that we set aside each check just to "blow". Looks like this took the check this time!

I shop on ebay ALL the time and, so far, have only had problems as a seller, never a buyer. I always make sure I know the actual retail value of something, and also search around on the web to make sure that I can't find a better deal, before bidding. I also always CAREFULLY read the listing, and ask any questions I have before bidding. And CHECK FEEDBACK! You CAN get some great deals on ebay! In fact, there are several lots of Noro available from a GB seller right now -- I was looking at a couple until I realized where she was.

$150 for a yarn swift!!!!??? Wow. Hm.. Maybe $65 isn't so bad after all....

edit: Uhoh, I just bid on some Noro and I hadn't even been thinking I needed any! THANKS, I think.

YUMMMMM.....Noro Kureyon colors are hard to beat. :inlove: Great price!! Congrats!

FYI, it's even cheaper at WEBS (yarn.com) with their 25% discount. Or about the same with their 20% discount (you'd get that if you ordered 8 skeins).

Hey Thanks Amy for that about yarn.com. I always had Webs confused with a cheapo store here in new york that closed down, so I never looked into their products. Didn't realise they carry high end yarns. Will definitely check them out (hopefully in person one day too)!

True, but they don't have every colorway instock at the moment, unfortunately. :(

Well, now I know how to get a guarnteed good deal... Part of the fun with Ebay is the bidding and still feel like you are coming out ahead.
