I've been busy making blankets et al for new nephew. I now find myself with 3 skeins of acrylic (light blue, light mint and white) that's too scratchy for blanket, so I'm looking for suggestions on perhaps a decor item or ???? for baby's room. Any ideas welcome.

TIA,

Acrylic gets softer after it's washed, but it's still likely to be too scratchy for a baby. I'd suggest a lapghan or something for the new parents to use. Parents need some lovin' too, after all!

A knitted teddy bear or other stuffed animal?

If you're feeling selfless, you could knit some small blankets for animals at your local shelter (http://www.snugglesproject.org/). I made the same mistake you did, and that's what I'm planning to do with my extra yarn.

Thanks for your replies. Whatever I make for the nephew has to be shipped a long distance (spendy!) so am leaning towards donating locally whatever I end up making, as that would be more cost effective.
