View Full Version : FO - my first socks

02-20-2006, 04:13 PM
So I finished my Knitting Olympics project - my first pair of socks - just in time for my administrative assistant's birthday (they are a gift for her, in her favorite color). They were surprisingly easy and I love, love, love this yarn (Malabrigo). They are looser/slouchier than I would've wanted, but otherwise I'm thrilled.

Thanks, all!

Yep, Ingrid, I'm finding it very hard to let go of these luscious babies. Of course, if my admin. asst. knew how many times I had put them on my feet, I'm not sure she would want them.

Kristen, the pattern is Knitting Pure and Simple Beginner's Socks. I found it to be an extremely easy, very well-written pattern. I'm getting ready to cast on for a pair of men's socks that will be quite similar, also from Knitting Pure and Simple.

Gave them to the AA yesterday and she *loved* them. :happydance: I was so happy. She went ahead right then and put them on and wore them to staff meeting to show everyone. :D

Knitting Pure and Simple is a pattern company, not a book. You can see the patterns at http://www.knittingpureandsimple.com

You can't buy the patterns directly from that site, though. I bought mine from http://www.jimmybeanswool.com - great, quick delivery!
