We've been working on this since before Christmas and it's been soooooo hard to keep it a secret!! :roflhard:

Kudos to Norman for setting up our "secret lair" (website) so that we could organize these many months like the French Resistance!! :notworthy: Thank you, Norman!!

:rofling: :roflhard: :rofling: :roflhard: :rofling:

03-01-2006, 04:21 PM
I wasn't a part of the project (and don't knit well enough yet to produce that kind of work anyway ;) ), but I have to comment: what beautiful work!!!

Amy, you are doing a wonderful service by maintaining knittinghelp.com and I for one greatly appreciate the resource. May you enjoy your gorgeous afghan in your new home snug in the warm wishes of your "flock."

Sheldon, you were great! Loved the pics.

03-01-2006, 04:33 PM
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

So glad you like it, Amy!!!! It was an honor to be part of such a wonderful project. Please, thank Sheldon for taking the pictures- if we could have put all of us in the box with it so we could watch you open it ourselves, we would have!!! :happydance:

03-01-2006, 04:34 PM

wonder if we should warn anybody of some of the conversations that we had over there before they go wandering in innocently?

:rofling: :roflhard: :rofling: :roflhard: :rofling:

If they've been HERE they've been prepared. :rofling:

So, Amy, were you surprised? :roflhard: It was a lot of fun participitating in this and I'm so pleased to be part of a bunch of wonderful people who pulled it off.

Special thanks to Kelly, too!

Wrap yourself in hugs every time you use it, Amy!

03-01-2006, 04:34 PM
That is soooooo incredibly AWESOME!!!

This place is just over flowing with wonderful people.

03-01-2006, 04:36 PM
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: Yay, you got it! Glad you like it. And man, that thing is huge!

03-01-2006, 04:41 PM
Yay! Lovely pictures!
I was getting all excited to see it finished. I never finished my square, either.

03-01-2006, 04:41 PM
So glad you like it Amy! Thank goodness Sheldon was there with the camera...I can only imagine what you might have been thinking. Thanks so much for posting the pics. We've all been dying of impatience and stalking the usps site to see when you got it!

03-01-2006, 04:45 PM
My goodness, Amy, you have no idea what kinds of pins and needles we've been on, tracking that package and worrying over each of our individual squares, etc.
You'll see when you read the forum that for each completed square, we each had one or two that ended up in the frog pond.
I am so glad you love it! Use it in good health!

03-01-2006, 04:46 PM
Thank you Sheldon for participating in our conspiracy! Great pictures! This was such an exciting project. It was really lots of fun. Big thanks to Norman for setting up the website and to Kellyk and all the seamers. You deserve a huge round of applause! :cheering:

03-01-2006, 04:50 PM
:cheering: I am so glad you finally have it!!!! Thank you so much for posting the pictures! I know that I for one would not be a knitter if it wasn't for you and I know that holds true for many others as well!

Thank you!!!

03-01-2006, 04:55 PM
 Your reaction was so wonderful and Sheldon is a doll to have been "the man" with the camera.

 I think calling it an "afghan" might be misleading - it's huge! Lots of love involved there! There is also a great deal of appreciation for your tremendous gift to all knitters!

Do you have any idea how amazing it is that this was kept a secret? I kept waiting for someone to slip! :rofling:

Enjoy it and know that it was made with love!

03-01-2006, 04:57 PM
yeah I don't have to keep that big secret anymore. And you look so happy, it was worth it just to see that! Yeah Amy thanks so much for bringing this happy group of people together.

03-01-2006, 05:01 PM
I'm 'SO' glad you posted the photos so we could see your "priceless" reaction.
There were many of us that wished we could be seamer's and join in on the party.
Your husband did a super job.
It was fun and I'm SO VERY happy for you,

03-01-2006, 05:06 PM
That Afghan is absolutely gorgeous!!! Congrats Amy for being the recipient and congrats to everyone that made such beautiful squares. I love the colors.

Would it be possible to find out who did the pattern in pic #18 (in Amy's first post)? and where did you get the pattern? it's a white square with a lot of bobbles, and it's awesome. I am in the process of making an afghan (not THAT big!) and still want ideas for square patterns.

Thanks! And Enjoy it Amy!!!!![/i]

03-01-2006, 05:11 PM
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: I am soo glad that you love it! You are more than worth every stitch! I saw pics from before it was sent but man I had no idea it was that big! Brings a whole new meaning to the word Ginormous! :roflhard: Keeping quiet was definatly hard!

  Much love to you!

Sheldon: Thoes pics are great  Thanks a ton!

03-01-2006, 05:21 PM
YAY Amy!! So glad you finally got it!

03-01-2006, 05:28 PM
Look at how happy.... awwww :D Great job, Sheldon  and Amy, we're so glad you like it...
That big 'ol blankie looks so pretty, everyone did an awesome job, especially Kelly with her killer organizational skills ;), Norman/Dave putting up that website :notworthy:, the poor seamers who had to put that behemoth together (with minimal alcoholic assistance, in order to keep those seams straight :rofling: ) and of course all the awesome KH'ers...

03-01-2006, 05:32 PM
YAY! I'm so glad it finally came! Not only do I wish I could have joined the seaming party, but I wish I could have been the delivery person! So thanks for posting the pictures so quickly. I can't believe we started this thing 2 months ago. It's so hard to keep secrets this good!

You are so amazing and awesome and sweet and generous and lovely and everything else! Thanks for creating such an great community and knitting family here at KH!

03-01-2006, 05:33 PM
See what you don't realize is that I really didn't DO anything..

03-01-2006, 05:39 PM
See what you don't realize is that I really didn't DO anything..

Without you, Dave, we wouldn't have had a center of covert operations! Don't sell yourself short!

do you mean Silveridger? I just read her post and she wasn't part of the project. Any other ideas who it belongs to and how i can get my anxious little hands on the pattern???

03-01-2006, 06:09 PM
you did tooooo dave!!!! :) and What Ingrid said!!!

Any way we could get a pic of you AND Sheldon???? all wrapped up??? :)

03-01-2006, 06:11 PM
OMG I decide to actually DO some work instead of stalking the forums and LOOK WHAT HAPPENS!!!!

 :inlove: Amy....we LOVE ya! :inlove:

I have to say how PROUD I am of how this whole project came together. I have never in my life experienced such cooperation and comeraderie in such a large group! YOU set the bar for this, Amy....the same love that runs through KH ran AMOK through The Amy Project.

My personal THANKS to all the KHers who participated SO generously and thoughtfully and with such humor and love....who kept me CALM during my near psychotic breaks during the organizational process! :roflhard:

And, OMG, Dave....you are the absolute BEST!

Amy, you didnt see all of the extra "goodies" that came in the mail with so many squares...folks sent "chocolate fuel" for the seamers, and SWEET little gifts for Howie, and donations for postage and more. I know you feel proud now, but you should feel PROUDER!

SO hard to keep that secret! T'was funny....when TAP site went up, I was SO worried that Amy was going to worry why her hit numbers were suddenly falling! Our biggest accomplishment MAY have been keeping up both here AND there! :roflhard:

LUV LUV LUV to EVERYONE!!!

03-01-2006, 06:21 PM
I posted something here once recently, and posted my personal blog...something about my sweet Nana...and something made me go check...and I TOTALLY forgot about my contribution was on my blog. It was on for about 30 seconds before I pulled it off...I think I got a few grey hairs on that one!!!!!!!!

03-01-2006, 06:31 PM
I do believe they mean Silver (different that silveridge)

:) And Let me just say it was fun, the site will remain active for a while, then I'll just archive it to CD and take it down :D

03-01-2006, 06:32 PM

No, Silver, not Silveridger. You can probably PM her if you want!

03-01-2006, 06:32 PM
I swear that at 2:55 I heard a huge sigh of relief from the TAP people hehehe

03-01-2006, 06:35 PM
You heard that too eh?!

03-01-2006, 06:40 PM

I'm all teary now!

What a sweet, wonderful, special AND FABULOUS gift!!! What a terrific group of ladies! Thanks for sharing this with us!

03-01-2006, 07:18 PM
I'm so happy you got it!!! I was about to burst waiting for you to get it and see your expression! I'm so proud of my fellow knitters who just wholeheartedly and without hesitation joined the efforts! And bravo to the seamers on a job very well done!

And OMG, this was one of the hardest secrets to keep! And considering what a chatty bunch we are, it's amazing that no one slipped!

Anyway, we    you Amy!!! It was just a pleasure and honor to knit a square for your afghan!

03-01-2006, 07:40 PM
Thank you Fibergirl! I feel so loved, completely and truly!

KellyK, holy maceral, you organized all this?!! Kelly, what can I say?! Thank you!!!! http://smily.hit.bg/hug.gif

Hildy and Julie and Kelly, thank you so much for conceiving this, and bringing it into life! You've created something that I will feel uplifted by for the rest of my life. It's weird to say this outloud...but today I feel I could die a perfectly contented woman. Do you know what I mean? The love around me is so tangible, I feel like if i were to die right now, I wouldn't even be scared. That's how incredible this is. I thank you from my deepest spiritual place. I really feel the peace and love in this project! What an amazing gift! http://imagehost.biz/ims/pictes/209214.gif

I'm still soaking this all in, it's just so amazing! I've been over at the other website, I can't believe all that went into this! This is me: http://theamyproject.com/forum/Smileys/default/cloud9.gif

Dave, you did SUCH an amazing job with that forum, all the color-coded profiles and stats and all, wow, nice job!!! http://www.mundogasol.com/foro/clap.gif Sure you don't want to keep it up? If you wanted to keep it as a home for charitable knitting projects, or for other charitable works, I'd be HONORED to have my name associated with anything y'all did there! Of course, I'm honored ALREADY, so no pressure! THANK YOU!!!!

I can't believe the quality and care of the whole package I received today, with a CD with a PDF of all the squares, and a nice note from everyone, what a presentation!!

Silver, your graphic work is incredible, as always! So is your square! I posted on your thread about it. :D Thank you Sil!

Dotmom, Julie, VickyL, MaryB, Andrea, Kelly and Hildie, thank you for doing all the seaming!

Oh my goodness, I know that I can only conceive of about 1/4 of the work that went into this. I'm still in awe!! Thank you everyone!! http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons/60.gif

03-01-2006, 08:14 PM
OH WOW!!!!!

I just got home from shopping and ran right up here to see if it really arrived and LOOK AT THOSE ADORABLE PICTURES!

Amy you are so pretty in those pix and just look great with your new afghan. Yeah, I was so pleased to be part of this project and I never did thank
NORMAN for that great website and all that work (and believe me it's work coz I can't even figure any thing out about a website).

I've thanked Kelly many times and what super seamers! I wanted to be there! WHAT AN IDEA and how great is it that you have a new afghan to go with your new house! I loved looking for a design and I love the one I found but also some others have really inspired me to make my own afghan! (man I had no idea how big that thing was)

Enjoy Amy as I know you will. You really deserve it!

love, Vic Victoise Viki :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

03-01-2006, 08:18 PM
Awww, I'm getting all teary reading this. Amy, your pics are the best...give Sheldon a big THANK YOU for the pics.

I'm glad you're enjoying your gift - you deserve it. The afghan is just a small token of all the wonderful things you've given us KH knitters. So, draw up a cup of tea, wrap yourself in your new afghan, and remember how much we all love you, chica.

03-01-2006, 08:22 PM
Yea Amy! You got it. I was so happy that Kelly and the others had come up with this wonderful idea! And Dave, with the website! It was truly amazing with the stats and keeping track of who did what square and in what color so it would be an even distribution of colors! That thing turned out huge!!! :happydance:

We all, even those not involved in the project (which includes me because I had to bow out), wanted to say how important you are in the knitting world. You brought this great site to us and taught 100s of people how to knit just by watching your videos. You brought 1000s of people together not just to write back and forth about knitting but about their lives. You got people together in states like Illinois meeting other fellow knitters out there and making long-lasting friendships between people that might never have met otherwise.

You are a truly amazing woman Amy  and this is just a small token to say thank you from all of the people involved. Thanks again to everyone who made the afghan. It was beautiful! Silver, I am always in awe of your amazing handiwork. Your square was beautiful. As were all of the others that I saw through the pictures that Sheldon so lovingly took of the happy moment.

Anyway, this got long. Glad it got to you and glad that you liked it. Glad we can finally talk about it!!! We'd like to see more pictures of each square up close if you are willing to take more pictures!

03-01-2006, 08:29 PM
Those pictures capture all your emotions...they are so priceless! So gald you love it, Amy!

We had so much fun with it!! We love you!

03-01-2006, 08:42 PM
Amy -

I'm so glad to have participated in the secret project! It was an honor to actually have a small part in creating something for you!! The pictures are wonderful and kudos to all the gals who actually seamed it all up! It is so BIG!! Enjoy it and congratulations on your new home!!! Lots of exciting things for you this month!!!

03-01-2006, 09:22 PM
I am SOOOOO happy you got your big box today, Amy!! I, too, have been stalking the forum(s) and the USPS site, but I had to leave this afternoon & only now got a chance to check in to see what transpired. I *love* the play-by-play pictures Sheldon took. We all wanted to be there to watch you open it, and, well, it was *almost* like we were there. ;-)

It's been such a blast working on this project. I had the honor of hosting the seaming party, and I can't tell you how much fun it was working with the group that pulled it all together.

Each and every person that made a square for this was so conscientious about choosing their pattern so that it had meaning. It's just impossible to put it all into words.

If you ever had the time, you would probably find lots of "hints" dropped throughout this forum re: the project. It's been pretty humorous watching everyone bite their tongues!

Mostly, I'm just very honored and humbled to be a part of all of this. Kelly did a fantastic job of organizing it all. Dave, as everyone has said, we couldn't have lived without 'cause we were trying to communicate by email, and that was going to turn into a nightmare! And all of the camaraderie and "mentoring" that went on in the forum cannot be matched *anywhere*!

 Thanks, Amy, for bringing us all together!!

03-01-2006, 09:29 PM
If you ever had the time, you would probably find lots of "hints" dropped throughout this forum re: the project. It's been pretty humorous watching everyone bite their tongues!

I never suspected a thing!! And I read almost everything. You guys are so awesome... I only wish I would've known. I would've loved to participate. Sounds like it was such a fun project!!!

03-01-2006, 09:38 PM
Yeah, we were pretty sneaky, eh? ;-) There were some discussions, though, about Howie, Maggie and Andrea that were getting pretty darn close to spilling the beans!

Oh, and someone mentioned wanting to see close-ups of the squares. They are all posted on The Amy Project forum in the General Discussion: Finished Squares topic (http://theamyproject.com/forum/index.php/topic,158.0.html)

03-01-2006, 09:45 PM
If you ever had the time, you would probably find lots of "hints" dropped throughout this forum re: the project. It's been pretty humorous watching everyone bite their tongues!

I gotta admit...i mentioned the project i was working on that was was making me pull my hair out on this forum several times, and it made me giggle every time i did it!

i think all of us that worked on this project have a little less hair than we use to have when we started but i don't think any of us regret it a bit! ;)

i can't stop coming in this thread to look at the pics and showing them to people who aren't nearly as excited about it as i am! :rofling:

*tries not to giggle at the typo found elsewhere in that post*

03-01-2006, 09:50 PM
Actually, there are only 32 squares posted in that thread. But it's definitely a good start.
I really enjoyed working on this project, and Amy's reaction definitely brought a smile to my face. It's so gratifying to see everything brought together and the recipient reacting to wonderfully. Many hugs to everyone who participated in this in any way.

she got it she got it she got it!!!!! I would have posted earlier but my mom called and i have to give my undivided attention to her or she asks me something and if i answer wrong, i get an earful! LOL

I am still so in awe of being part of this project. Hildie and I are pillow pals!! our squares make one of the pillows. and not to toot my own horn too much, but Amy's holding my note and pic in the pics sheldon took! :cheering:

Amy, your reaction is PRICELESS and a beautiful demonstration of how we felt doing this for you. I get such a kick out of each and every person that is on KH, all of them! everyone that joins has something cool to say and it's growing and growing!

From our hearts and hands to yours darlin'!!!

I came way too late to KH (and knitting) to have even known about this, let alone been part of it ( :( ), but I wanted to add my own love and thanks to Amy for this life-changing place... seriously life-changing. I count myself lucky to be here and to have met the people I've met and to meet the people I have yet to meet, and to be learning to do something as meaningful and creative and just so damn fun as knitting. And it's all thanks to your incredible talent and your wonderful website! (And to have you be a Sacred Harp singer, too, Amy, is just too amazing for words! :D )

   Thank you for it all, Amy! We love you! (And see you in a week and a half!!! :cheering: :cheering: )

It was like being there in person!
Enjoy and hope it keeps you warm for many many years!!

I think you all did a beautiful job on Amy's afghan. I can't imagine the hours it must have taken to seam it together! What a wonderful way to tell someone you care about them and the look on Amy's face when she opened it was priceless.
Well done everyone! :cheering:

03-02-2006, 01:40 PM
 no Amy, thank YOU for your wonderfulness.

03-02-2006, 03:27 PM
hey what type yarn did you use? it looks so comfy

03-02-2006, 03:29 PM
It was made with Plymouth Encore.

03-02-2006, 03:31 PM
worsted? chunky?

sorry im asking probably a dumb question. im still not very good at sorting all of this. i want to make a blanket of cellular automata squares and was wondering about a good comfy yarn

03-02-2006, 03:36 PM
Worsted!! :)

that would do it for sure!! :)

Hey, I beat Ingrid....lol....do I get a point...hehehehe....

03-02-2006, 03:37 PM
It was worsted weight. It's a very nice yarn, not expensive, lots of colors and machine washable, dryable. It's an acrylic/wool blend.

03-02-2006, 06:12 PM
Instead of Sheldon it was Sheldong Heehee.

Heatherfeather--you've ruined my reputation!! How will I live with myself!

MY pen. . . . . . is poised to keep track of your points! :roflhard:

03-02-2006, 08:37 PM
Amy, I've been preoccupied with my Mom and our relocation back toward "home", so my knitting has slowed a bit due to traveling back and forth...just came back to Mt. Airy today to check on everything and get some laundry taken care of and will go back to Sanford (and to my Mom's house probably on Sunday or Monday....but I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU  YOUR AFGHAN

THE AFGHAN IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT YOUR HAPPY AND SMILING FACE IS EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL!! Thank Sheldon for taking such lovely pictures for us!! I have missed all of you so much...it's been a task to concentrate on my knitting projects (a baby blanket and the Irish Hiking Scarf), but my interest in knitting will never cease...ALL THANKS TO YOU AND THIS TERRIFIC SITE CREATED AND NURTURED BY YOU, SHELDON AND ALL OF THE GREAT KH MEMBERS!!

Your new house is gorgeous...I  those hardwoods!! I know you will have it decorated to perfection so share those photos with us soon!!

We have this house (in Mt. Airy) on the market and there has been quite a bit of interest in it so far (3 weeks). We've already had one verbal offer, but rejected it...we'll probably rent something for at least a year in Sanford because I just don't have the brain cells to plan the building of our house just yet!! We bought 12 acres at "home" a couple of years ago and gave our DS and DIL two acres...they built and moved in around Thanksgiving, so we will build beside of them...not too close though :roflhard:

I'll be so thankful to get settled again, but it seems it will be awhile with my Mom's situation going on at the same time...at least I'll be close enough to see her every day and to help with her needs....I sure am glad that I finished my square before my life took this tailspin and was proud to be part of the "secret"...we are really good at keeping secrets, huh? :happydance:

Joyce ---

It's good to see you back here, and I hope all is going as well as it can with your Mom. You must be so stressed out!! {{{hugs for you}}}

And to the rest of you ---

I'm SO glad I could provide give you all with such a good laugh today.

(Fiber ... see Ingy's post right before yours ... she reiterated my mistake in a rather understated way.)

03-03-2006, 04:38 AM
THAT is gorgeous! What a work of art! I wasn't part of it, but just wanted to say what a great gift of appreciation that is.

Thank you Amy, for teaching me how to knit with knowledge, confidence and a little speed.

03-04-2006, 12:53 AM
Ladies and Gents the blanket is beautiful! So thoughtful.
You have inspired me to make one of my own.

As an aside I wanted Amy to know (like others) she is the reason I knit. Without KH.com I would have given up long ago.

 Thank you!

03-04-2006, 01:10 AM
Another aspect of how AWESOME this project was......I, and I think a few others, were given yarn by other members in order to be able to participate in the project. I was unable to find Plymouth Encore locally, and to order it online and ship to Canada would have cost me an arm and a leg, so not to name any names (the person who has over 11000 posts here) ;) sent me a ball of yarn.

03-04-2006, 02:39 AM
WOW! I had no idea! Congratulations on everything, Amy! you deserve it!

03-04-2006, 01:24 PM
I am SO sad I couldn't be on the forum the day you received the afghan, but I'm SOOO happy that you have pictures documenting it! YAY!

I had such a great time participating in this project. I was a little late getting my square in, but KK was so accomodating to make my square into a pillow. Thanks again, KK!

You look so beautiful and happy in the pictures, Amy! Just the reaction I was hoping for. :D ENJOY!

03-06-2006, 01:08 PM
Sorry I'm late ...

:cheering: So glad you like it Amy!! :cheering:

03-10-2006, 01:05 PM
Amy, I didn't know anything about the project, or I would have knitted a square, but I'm so glad all these great folks did this for you. I want to tell you what you mean to me.

I learned to knit as a child, but I never learned to hold the yarn for tension so everything always came out uneven. I found your site and learned to knit Continental and what a difference it has made. I have Crohn's Disease, and there are times when I don't feel that great. Especially during these times I pick up my knitting that you have taught me to do and I start creating something I can be proud of. And you know what? Before long I start physically feeling better. I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that you have contributed greatly to my health.

I thank you very much for your time and your love you have given all of us. You have allowed us to create and to tap into our inner resources. What a marvelous gift that is.

Many thanks,

03-10-2006, 01:21 PM
this is the first time I have seen the afghan (as I am new to knitting and new to this site) but I just wanted to say that you all did a phenominal job, it came out breathtakingly beautiful!

03-10-2006, 04:18 PM
Amy I am so happy for you!!! I wish I had joined in time to be a part of the making of that afghan!!! :( It is so beautiful and I love the colors of it and the pillows.

KK :X:

03-13-2006, 02:49 AM
WOW... that is gorgeous!!!!!!!

03-14-2006, 02:08 PM
I'm just seeing this for the first time today! Amy, I'm so happy that you've gotten your quilt and that you are so happy with it. You surely deserve it, my friend! I wish that I would have had the time to participate!

03-14-2006, 02:46 PM
Oh, wow! That is so gorgeous!!!

03-14-2006, 08:49 PM
I just joined this forum today and have been browsing. Yesterday, I watched most of Amy's training videos and was thinking, "gee what a great person to do that" and I learned a lot! So, while browsing and seeing the beautiful afghan you folks made for her, I thought "how wonderful!" That was a lovely thing to do and it really shows how appreciative you are of her efforts!

I am wondering, though. Is there a place to go to find the "story" behind it? Like, how did it come about; how did you decide on the kind of afghan; colors; squares, etc. How big is it, how many squares, how many people made squares? It would be very nice if someone would "write the story" so to speak so that us newbies and hear all about it. You all should be very proud!

03-14-2006, 09:50 PM
You can read all about it here:

03-16-2006, 10:57 PM
I came way too late to do this thing, but im thinking of sending you a bunny...if it ever gets made.

As someone in this thread said, (i forgot, sorry!) a lot of us wouldnt be knitters if it wasnt for you. My knitting needles would have been snapped in half and thrown away long before anything could be made.(hahaha Ingrid knows about this  )

This site was for me what a life preserver is for a drowning man. (really im NOT joking-hahaha) What water is for a desert wanderer. What milk is for a cat....ok im rambling.

Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks, amy! :D

04-06-2006, 03:19 PM

You so deserve the beautitul afghan these wonderful posters created for you. I am a self taught knitter and have only been knitting for about 2 1/2 months. If it were not for you and your wonderful site and videos, I would not be knitting today. Your videos have been so helpful and key to my being able to create a wondeful heirloom for my 6 month old daughter! You are wonderful! Enjoy your gorgeous afghan! I hope to be able to contribute if anything like this is ever coordinated for you again!

Big hugs,

04-06-2006, 06:02 PM
Beautiful stuff! This site has some of the sweetest people. I did not make a square but if yall do another something I hope I can participate.
Now I know what the TAP signatures are hehehe. I was reading those for a bit and :??
Hugs to all of you and congrats Amy!!

04-06-2006, 06:28 PM
Thanks for all the kind words everyone! :sunny:

I cuddle up in this afghan every day, with my kitty on my lap in my favorite chair.

04-08-2006, 12:31 AM
I wish I could've helped...I don't know what happened...I had the email with the hint about it, but I never got the big one...I was sick for a while, so I was never online. Probably missed it when KK sent it...

Just know I love you, Amy!!!!

04-12-2006, 06:49 AM
That is the sweetest thing and the afghan is gorgeous! I'm a very new knitter and I've been coming here from time to time to watch Amy's videos. She is a godsend. I love to knit but I don't know any knitters locally so I can't ask anyone to show me.

Bless you Amy!

Greetings from sunny Florida! I am new to this forum and I want to thank Amy for her amazing site, her mini videos are so valuable. Before finding her site I had purchased lots of knitting books but her site is just heaven for visual people like me. Too bad I did not know about the "amy project" what a thoughtful thing to do from all of you. I am working on my first garment, it's a debbie bliss child's bolero pattern. My daughter can't wait to wear it! I just blocked this little jacket by steaming iron on a towel and I am working on the lace edging. I need to knit like crazy because my daghter wants to wear on her first day of school next Monday! xxx
