I found some Moda Dea Cache yarn in a color I really love, and it was on sale at Michael's for about 3 dollars a skein. The yarn is so interesting, with thick and thin parts, and a gold thread running through it.
I bought 6 skeins, and then came home to find a pattern.
I found this one: http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/charles/charles.html
I've almost finished the knitting part, and then all I'll have left to do is the shoulder seam. So easy!

I'm looking forward to finishing this one. I've never made an adult poncho before, so it should be interesting. :D

Thanks! So far, I've used about 7 skeins of yarn. I think I'll need one more for the seaming and fringe. I might use another kind of yarn, the way they did in the original pattern. I just can't decide for sure.

Woo Hoo! FINALLY, I finished making this poncho. It was garter stitch all the way, and I ended up using about 8 or 9 skeins. I'm proud, and now I have something nice to wear for fall! :happydance:
I made the poncho by casting on 60 stitches with a size 10 1/2 needle, and knitting every row until it began to look like a scarf for Paul Bunyan!
I was considering making it a mobius, but it wouldn't work that way - too bulky. So, I just made it a poncho as I originally intended. I think it looks pretty good!
I was so excited to get a photo, that I just put it on over my nightgown! :teehee: I did put on some makeup, so I'm not THAT bad, I guess. :)
