My SIL said she needed pot holders (http://www.freepatterns.com/fp_pdfs/Other/Knitting/Heartfelts.pdf)and I found this pattern. Has anyone done it?

I've never done color work OR worked from a chart. This doesn't look too hard though. What I'm thinking of doing is trying it with the heart and then since my SIL likes lighthouses maybe try that...

I've never used a chart either, but that square one with a heart looks like an easy one to try! Good luck to you!

My vision is not what it used to be, so I can't read charts anymore. I've had to get rid of all my old cross-stitch patterns. When I knit, I have to make an enlargment of the instructions so I can read them.

Charts are easy--I always think of them as color-by-number. You certainly know where to go to get help, too! ;)

Some white does felt, you just need to test it first.

I love the felted potholder that i made. It works like a charm! It isn't one of thoes lovies that you posted but a hat that I made for Sophia that was too small for her so I felted it and blocked it flat. lovely pink potholder now. Once I finish my forever long list of knitting projects I plan on making more (next year some time :roflhard: )
I can't wait to see how yours turn out!

At the LYS:
"Hi, I need two skeins the color of spaghetti sauce, one skein the color of egg yolks, and one skein for the thumb of my oven mitts which should be the color it turns after you dip it into the cheese on a pizza five or so times...."
