Here is a baby blanket I am doing in Velvetspun (at the request of Auntie who commissioned the work). The colors are slightly more pastel than they appear here. There isn't a pattern, just a stitch called Garter Stitch Chevron which I got from the 365 Knitting Stitches a Year perpetual calendar. I cast on 88 stitches, and yes, the purple sections are smaller than the white. It was a mistake, but I went with it thinking it made it a bit unique!

I've used that yarn before - it feels divine! That will be one lucky baby, all wrapped up in that softness. I wish I could have one big enough for me!

Looks great! I would never have known that one stripe was different from the others ;)

Well, the purple and the white are supposed to be the same, as in six rows. But I only did four rows of the purple on the first purple stripe, so I continued doing the six rows of white and four rows of purple. I think it still looks good.

I think it's adorable...is this the blanket that's making you crazy??!?!
I wouldn't have noticed the size difference between the colors but since you pointed it out....I like it. :D

I like it too. It looks like pretty stripes on a white background. Lovely.

Yes, this is the one that is making me crazy. And it is so simple! I have knitted things much more complicated than this and not had as many troubles, but thanks!

How do you like working with that yarn? I made a sweater and a blanket with it and found it to be messy. When I cut the ends it fuzzed real easy. Do you have a trick for that. I would love to use it more because it is SO soft but. Man was it a mess and I am also worried that the stuff will just keep fuzzing off.

It is quite messy. Frankly I have no idea how it will hold up when I am done. But I have super soft fuzz all over my couch and anything I wear to work with it. It is however, SUPER soft and I love the feel of it.
I wish I had tricks to share, but I don't. The only advice I have is, dont' pull too tightly. I did a rectangle with it for a poncho, and when I was done, I was GENTLY tugging on the cast on row, to even it out and it snapped! It is not stretchy at all.

I made a sweater out of it so cute and soft. I tied a little not at the end of each string before weaving in. I hope that will help. I guess time will tell. It must just be the yarn since you are having the same issues. I was thinking I was doing something wrong with it.
I love your blanket the colors are beautiful.
