Ahhhhhh.....the JOY of sock knitting :D .......
I finished another pair of socks for my aunt's bday :D These are Mock Croc Socks (http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Projects_Display_Yarn.aspx?itemid=50400220&yarnid=5420133) done in KnitPicks' Dancing yarn on size 2 dpns.

I love those!
Is that color Swing, by any chance? That's the one I've got and I still haven't decided what to make with it.

:D Thanks everyone
I don't know which color it is bc there is no name on the label & this color is no longer on the website!
LOL, Ing-A-Ling...that's a good idea for future use ;)

Thanks so much....and...Please, please don't give up  I promise that once you get the hang of it, it's not really hard! I was frustrated with socks & I saw this episode (http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_dkng/episode/0,2046,DIY_18180_36323,00.html) of Knitty Gritty and :figureditout: I was enlightened! The notes on the last page are very helpful, too. You have Silver's class (http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Beginning.htm) and socks 101 (http://www.royea.net/sockdemo1.html) and this article (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/FEATsocks101.html) and the list goes on!
If you really want to knit socks, if I may, I would suggest that you start with worsted wt. yarn and size 6 or 7 dpns and get comfortable with using the dpns and playing with socks & I'm sure you will have :figureditout: the lightbulb go off when socknitting clicks for you ;)

:D Thanks, yeah, I'm ready to knit since I wasn't able to do much being in so much pain AND having both wrists sprained :D ! So, I put away all of the shawls I wanted to do & thought it time to knit a few socks ;)

Love the socks. I saw the pattern and wanted to try it and I just so happen to have some Dancing in Tap. Does the pattern in the leg keep it up? Or would you add a couple of inches in rib?

:D Thanks :D !! I would add rib with Dancing. I'm not very excited with Dancing yarn bc the elastic just isn't working for me. I'm not very concerned with these bc they are going to my aunt who is wearing them in bed to keep her feet warm after having a stroke & I didn't want anything tight. But, I would suggest ribbing if you are using Dancing. I made another pair with Dancing & had to put elastic in the ribbing after I had made the socks...I had cast on too loosely & the ribbing wasn't very tight; but they are fine since I added the elastic ;)

Thanks for the advice. I'm sorta surprised bc Dancing is supposed to have elastic in it. I will definitely add a rib top when I use it.

Dancing does have elastic, but it stretches out quite a bit....perhaps it's the way that I am knitting, or I have a bad batch of yarn. I have knit with it in the past & it didn't give me quite as much trouble. I'm really at a loss as to why it happened
