I love the little loopy at the top, and the colour combination is great! Way to go! Don't you just love those instant gratification projects??

Great hat!

When I saw the title of the post, I thought it was a hat to wear during an evening out. :roflhard:

thanks, everybody!

I am not going to keep it because even if I love to knit hats, I do not wear them. It's going into the x-mas present box.

As for the pattern, I just made it up. Gauge was 3.5/1" on US #11, I casted 56 stitches and I knit for 8 inches. Then I did the decreases like this:
k6, k2tog all around
one round even
k5, k2tog all around
one round even
k4, k2tog all around
one round even
k3, k2tog all around
one round even
k2, k2tog all around
one round even
k1, k2tog all around
one round even
k2tog until I had 6 stitches on the needles.
I made a 3 stitches I-cord leaving the other 3 stitches live, and then I kitchener stitch the I-cord to the 3 live stitches.

Very easy!
