I saw one in the store along with knitting supplies and wondered what it is and what it is for? Anyone have pictures of something made from this gadget?

They make icords. Did you ever have a little tube of some kind with nails or pegs on top that you wrapped the yarn around and pulled loops over the nails? The cord came out the bottom?

No.......I was deprived :(

Okay, so they make icords. Is that easier than knitting an icord?

I suppose you could, but I doubt it's easier or as neat. My kids had them and made little animals with them. . . or just made lengths of cords that laid around for a while.

I remember doing it as a kid, in french it's called "tricotin". Like Ingrid was saying, I would simply do very long icords that would lay in the living room for a while. You can do them with your hands too. Here's two webpages (in french... but with lots of pictures) for people who are interested. http://www.tricotin.com/fiche5.htm http://www.tricotin.com/fiche28.htm
