Mine is on its way....my swap pal could be nice and send me the tracking information...I won't try to find out her identity or anything, I promise!

My swap pal gave me the tracking info and I still don't know who she is!! But its on its way!!!! :cheering:

I got my goods, I got my goods!! :cheering: :cheering:

My pal sent me a skein of Alpaca...OMG, y'all, it's like touching heaven. Well, actually, Oscar. Hence the clue of Oscar the Grouch...funny. The back of the label says that it came from Oscar. This stuff is seriously the softest yarn I've ever felt (and I've fondled LOTS of yarn.) It's undyed - Oscar is just naturally this beutiful.

I also got a pack of chocolate soaps which smell amazing! One bar is already sitting by the bathroom sink. :D Thank you, Jessica!!! This chocolate is FAR better for my marathon training than the real stick-to-your-thighs stuff. ;)

Oh, there's also a very sweet card, but I totally spazzed and forgot to put it in the pic.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I  LOVE  it all!!!

Yesterday I showed our friend's 2-yr-old the yarn. She says, "Ooooh, it's sooofffft" and proceeded to rub it on her face. When I told her that it was Oscar's hair that she was rubbing on her face, she was totally grossed out and ran away.

Yes, I'm drooling over everyone's yarn porn! This whole swap had to be the best idea ever. I'm so glad we did it. The best part is I made the greatest new friend!

yay! I'm glad you liked Oscar. I must say -- I copped one last feel before I put him in the bag. Hopefully you can make something lovely with him... maybe a scarf? then you can snuggle him all the time.

While I was up on Whidbey Island Dad, Mike and Grover (I know... kinda funny his name is Grover when we're discussing Oscar the alpaca) were all talking about how they could pull off raising Alpacas, and all the coin they could make off of it... granted - I'd have to learn how to spin, but I'd be willing if it meant I got to fondle more alpaca fleece.

As for the cholocate -- you would absolutely DIE if you ever visited my step-mom's shop -- http://www.chocolateflowerfarm.com, they've got chocolate EVERYTHING.

mmmm chocolate and alpaca. :D

I never thought this swap could by so fun and feel so spoiled. :)

Laura! What a sweet post! I'm so glad that you and Allie loved your gifts - that makes me so happy! And spoiling was the point of this swap after all!! Just enjoy it in good health and happiness!

This is such fun! I love reading about everyone's revelations!
Knitters never cease to amaze me. All in all, an astoundingly generous group of people!
I not only had great pleasure in surprising Amy (horve1) each month, but we now have begun what, I know to be a lifelong friendship, of which I am eternally grateful :D

Not only that, I was given such delightful things by my partner, Sara, who is also a new, lifelong friend :D

I think that the greatest gifts that we are receiving are these new, treasured friendships

I got my stuff today!!! She mailed in on tuesday and I got it today!
Can I just say that Stephani is now my bestest friend! I got 4 balls of Kid Merino for a lace (!) shawl that I have been wanting to knit but haven't had the guts to actually buy yarn for yet. Knitters Balm for my hands (perfect because I have such dry hands that they crack all the time) and the thing that she made me.... beautiful stitch markers!! (My first pair) Also in blue! She emailed me and asked me a few questions before she went shopping. Can you tell what my favorite color is? The only problem is that my daughter is also obsessed with blue so I have to CO immediatly so that she can not get her hands on them ;)

Thank You so much I absolutly love everything! And seeing as how I just put myself on yarn buying restriction this made it a little easier. :D

You ROCK Steph!!!

Nope, I don't live there. My dad and step-mom moved there last year. I'm 3000 miles away, near Philadelphia. I just got back from a 2 week trip there. It's GORGEOUS. Can't wait to visit again (although that whole "ferry" thing is a pain.

I'm sure you can do it. I just can't even think about lace right now...every few minutes my kids are "Mom, can I have this, mom can you do that, Moooooooooom can you wipe my butt"....I can hardly ever finish a row without interuption.

Thank you Thank you yarn pal even though I still don't know who you are...I got the same corn yarn (hehehe) that one of the previous posters got and it came from Kemp's store! My camera is on the fritz so I can't take pics--it's Amaizing 100% corn fiber by SWTC in color#162 (blue/white/teal) (2 skeins).

I remember there being a hint that was corn but since someone else has gotten the same yarn...I gotta go do some research and see if the hint was meant for me or someone else! LOL!

Whoever you are, thank you! Hopefully I'll figure out your identity as soon as I find that corn picture! :)

Honestly, all I saw was the wood floor and I thought that was a bamboo floor for "bamboo" yarn - and I didn't even see the little bit of "blue" there.... and then the HUGE smiley face! :figureditout: You must get the prize for having the slowest swap pal ever.....

rebecca

:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: I knew you would get it :cheering: :cheering: LOL, the only reason that I knew is because the smiley face stood out when I saw it...then, I saw it on your bear ;)

And, I gave to horve1! You thought that your gift giver was me, no, then you thought it was Sara. Well, Sara gave to me and I gave to horve1 (Amy) and horve1 gave to you...so, we were all entwined :D

I got me some gooooodies today and I can NOT believe it but i don't think i have ever felt up this yarn before. it is so yummy soft (just as i was promised) that i spent half the evening at my part time job just petting it. I did have to go do some investigating to find out who my person was....I really had done a good job putting it out of my head...lol. i was SURE it was one of our Debbies. However my swap pal was DeeKnits! Thank you so much! You have spoiled me well. This stuff is almost an exact match to the back of my couch (no really not the rest of the couch ....just the back...lol...the rest is other colors...i wasn't kidding about my color infatuation!) I am not sure what it wants to be when it grows up but right now it is doing well just coming with me to momma's house while i think about it!

She got me four balls of the Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk. sooo yummy to touch. and it is sort of a salmon/ coral color....sorry...cell phone was all i had with me for the picture!

Yes, Bren I thought you'd be happy with how soft it was. I haven't been able to post all the fun hints etc. It has just been crazy at work. Am leaving tomorrow for a business trip to Las Vegas. (Yes, it really is business.)
Bren has been so wonderful to organize this!!!!

I got my yarn last night as well, will post pictures later today. I am enthralled with ribbon yarns and she has done well to give me a beautiful sampling. I think they want to be cell phone cozies from my 9th grade Sunday school girls. KristinW is my pal. She has done all this even while taking care of a new baby. Wow.....

I have the ABSOLUTE BEST YARN SWAP PAL!!!
:happydance: :cheering: :happydance:

Tammy6071, I love you!
 :inlove:

I think Tammy was holding back on me in the last swap. She was saving all the love for the SECOND package! :D

My doorbell rang, and I FLEW down the hall (forgot about my sore knee....now it's WORSE! ) I just KNEW it would be my package!

It was!! :happydance:

Tammy has SPOILED ME ROTTEN! I feel like it's my birthday, or Christmas morning! :present:

She made the cutest card with my name on it, designed with little tea bags, a cup, tea kettle and a basket of yarn. ;)
(I'm gonna frame that and hang it in my craft room!)

And here's what I got in the box:
A sweet little tote bag that EXACTLY matches the rolling bag my sister gave me. (Was Tammy spying on me?)
Two skeins of Knit Picks Simple Stripes sock yarn in happy colors!
Two packages of BAMBOO DPN NEEDLES (My first set!) :)
Two HUGE skeins of Knit Picks Bare Peruvian Wool
Eight packs of Kool-Aid to dye it
A beautiful set of stitch markers (My first set!) :D
Debbie Macomber's Book "The Shop on Blossom Street"
AND the "Knit Along" Book, with 11 baby afghan patterns!
She even knit two pretty dishcloths for me! (Music Notes and Tea!)

I'm a happy girl! I'm a happy girl!
:balloons: :sunny: :balloons: :sunny: :balloons: :sunny: :balloons:

I never in a MILLION YEARS expected to get such a nice gift from my swap pal. And she was good. I never had any idea that Tammy was my pal.

Hey Tammy! I was showing all the stuff to my hubby and his son, and found this little tiny thing in with the packaging. I thought "What in the world?" It was little tiny knitting needles and yarn. Must have fallen off the card.

I'll glue it on there before I frame it. Such a cute card!

I still have NO IDEA how this package fits in with the clues of a sunset and a submarine. I must be a real airhead!

07-22-2006, 04:09 PM
Lovely stuff! How generous! I figured out the "sunrise" - I think it's the color of your yarn: 23552 Sunset

I still don't know what the submarine is - maybe it's where she lives?

Shandeh

But the address doesn't match. She's in Groton, CT.

Becky, you're a lucky duck! You got Angelia!

Tammy, isn't it WAY COOL that we got our yarn packages the EXACT SAME DAY?!!!!

I told my hubby about the submarine connection, and said that you met your husband at the sub base. He said, "I wonder how long his periscope is?" :roflhard:

Kelly!!!! NO FAIR!!!! You were supposed to be FIRST this month!

Yay, Becky, you got it!!!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

I had other yarn for you, but the more I knit with this Artyarns Supermerino, the more I love it. The moment you said "I think I'm addicted to socks" I knew JUST what you needed. I'm glad the book I ordered from Amazon got lost--you ended up with better goodies!

Ok... my goodies!!

I got wonderful Artyarn Supermerino. I've never used this before, but it feels lucious! Its a wonderful green and brown verigraded color.

I also got a very, very spiffy sock book! Knitting Vintage Socks, New Twists on Classic Patterns. I've already showed it to my knitting instructor and shes jealous. LOL.

I got my package!!! But I am still clueless to who you are pal!! All these clues confuse me and I haven't been keeping up with the thread, so I'm totally lost!

But THANK YOU FOR ALL MY WONDERFUL GOODIES!!!

I received some lovely Frog Tree Alapaca - oh so yummy and some Modea Wild which is so unbelievably soft!!! And I don't know how, but you managed to include my favorite candy - Reeses Pieces (which unfortunately I have no picture of because my DH ate them already!) and my DH's favorite candy - Twizlers (you know he already ate those too). Also included was a little snacky for my doggie. He could smell those bad boys before I could even get them out of the box!! Oh, AND some very cute stationary!!

Here are some pics:

I would have guessed that my swap partner should have gotten my package last week, but I haven't heard anything from her... :( I wonder if it disappeared on the way...

And it did arrive! Thank you so much, Anna! I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of my wonderful goodies (although I did have some of the chocolate... :D ).

It's been very busy around here for the last few days...didn't get a thank you email off to Anna, and my other swap pal is still waiting for me to send out her package because the day it would have gone in the mail is the day I went into labor! So here's a clue for anyone still waiting for their package...maybe it's from me! I'll try to have it in the mail for you in the next day or two.

In the meantime, here are a couple pix of our newest addition. Megan came into the world last Thursday, and we're back from the hospital. Labor was quick and went just fine. We're all very excited, and her siblings are happy and seem to be adjusting just fine.

Not only did I have the best swap pal ever....Sara...she spoiled me considerably.

BUT, I have the best other pal, too....Amy, horve1 is the person that I gifted...and she was such fun, so appreciative and excited about everything which made me want to send more and more :D

So, today when I arrived home from the doc I saw a big box on my doorstep and it was from Amy!! Chock ful of goodies, too!!!

Allow me to name them....
The coolest ever beanie baby bear....the Ty Peace Bear...and, she's knitting! Amy knit this tiny square for the Peace Bear, and she's holding tiny knitting needles!
A very nice Kaliedoscope
Cream
2 lovely crystal charms
A Secret Pal pen
Secret Pal KeyChain
A very nice, super soft drawstring bag that she had knit!!!
And, it was full of very nice Plymouth "Oh My" yarn (which is what I was saying as I unwrapped present after present!
BUT WAIT, that's not all!!
She also included a beautiful pair of socks that she knit with some of the yarn that I sent her :D

Thank you BRENDA!!!!!

I hope I remember everything...I ran home really quick and couldn't stay long.

Beautiful Striped Box-
Inside was a little zippered bag (I REALLY needed one to keep all my supplies in, I'm constantly searching for my scissors and yarn needeles)
Inside that was a froggie sock case (think old cigarette cases that snap...) (I collect frogs)
A lady bug retractable tape measurer (NEEDED that too)
A little notepad that looked like a sandal)

FOUR skeins of Koigu Merino Yarn. In BEAUTIFUL colorways!!! One is orange-ish the other is blue/green ish (I think, I was in such a rush)

THREE patterns-
One is a Marnie Hat pattern
One is felted fish...that will be great for the kids
One is jester hats...again...My Tyler LOVES to dress up.

Oh and a little knitted heart, it feels like it was made of Wick yarn (am I right?)
And three little bears....

I LOVE it all and will post pictures later.

So I wasn't feeling well this morning and left work early. I was upstairs laying down when I heard the mail lady come up the drive and thought, oh goodie, there must be a package! After a couple of hours of resting I went downstairs and there was the package with my name on it! :cheering:
It took me forever to open it, but it was worth it. Inside was a very soft skein of fuzzy blue yarn with flecks of pinks, yellows, called Soft Delight that my pal got from Hobby Lobby, a mason jar of brownie mix , called Sand Art Brownies and four lovely tea light candles that smell so nice!!!
I'll take some pics when I'm feeling a bit better, hopefully tomorrow. I just wanted to let my pal know that I got her package. Thank you so very much Danielle, aka Secksiebrat!!!!!

I also had a very rough start to my week. Lane started running a fever last night and started throwing up b/c of all the crap running down his throat. So we started the morning off at the doctors. We have pink eye, respiratory drainage and a fever along with the throwing up b/c of the yuckies in his chest.

BUT I did get my package today and it was filled with great stuff! Here are some pictures of all the great stuff I got!

My secret pal happens to share my name. Thanks so much Danielle for all the wonderful yarn. Now I can honestly say, I have a stash (more than 10 skeins of different yarns just awaiting my creativity).

You did excellent!!! I probably never would've picked that out for myself and I already love it.

i think the froggy thing is suppose to be a little change purse but i was thinking it should be a good way to ward off frogging shouldn't it? ;)

OK so I can reveal that I have already told Debbie I am her pal - this was for reasons of extreme tardiness on the part of her swap pal (its only gone in the post today AND it is coming from England) so I could assure her it is on the way but will take a while since it is arriving from a long way away.

Debbie, a short note to let you know, I have not knitted you the Marilyn Monroe bag - in amongst the family trauma I've knitted myself a soleil which has turned out to be what my mother would call in her cooking a "disaster cake" - it requires frogging of half the garment to get it to look ok and wearable, and I've also knitted a half dome from this new Knitty for my brother in Australia.

Anyway much as I would have loved to have created a bag for you I'm afraid I have not!

2 balls of NY Yarns Tweed and one large hank of wool, sportweight, dyed by my pal.

My SP is Mary / Monzogary and she sent a picture postcard with two of her girls on it. I didn't think to include it in the picture.

Thanks Mary!

Here is a pic of this awesome box..with my dragon made especially for me by my pals daughter. :D ..I'm going to have to keep it in the box along with, I think my stitch markers so my kitten doesn't eat him. He has taken off with him three times already while I was taking pics. :??

Here is my knitting journal, which I just love. I can't wait to use it. Also my sticky pattern markers (great idea!), some markers and a notebook with my initial on it. :happydance:

And finally (drum roll please) my YARN! Beautiful NORO in delicious colours! I love, love, love it! :inlove: Oh and don't mind the lint bits...the package was a bit ripped when I got it so its just some of the stuffing. I'll pick it off before I use it.

Beckyrae..it was absolutely hilarious. I would set the dragon up all cute and the little beggar would leap at it and be off before I could get the shot off. At one point I had to fish him out from under my bed

This is the little brat being held by dd. He's about 5 months old now and full vinegar.

OMG did I ever get SPOILED!!

Although, I had to go through a bit of an obstacle course to GET spoiled... I went to the PO right after feeding the pooches.... the skies were starting to get DARK and REEEAAALY OMINOUS!

I waited in line, and the postal worker told me that the carrier wasnt back with my package yet... WHAT? http://bestsmileys.com/anxious/4.gifHe SAID 6pm!! It's 10 til, dear. OH. Well, okay... I figure Ill run and get myself a chocolate peanut butter milk shake and come right back. YUM!!

So, on the way back, I took a different street and came up from the south and there was a FRIGGIN CEMENT TRUCK blocking the street! http://bestsmileys.com/frustrated/9.gifAre these people not aware of the fact that THERE IS A PACKAGE OF YARN AND WHO KNOWS WHAT OTHER GOODIES WAITING FOR ME AT THE POST OFFICE?!?!~?!?!?!/1/1

So, as the truck FINALLY moves, it starts raining. By the time I drive 1 more block and park across the busy street from the PO, it is POURING, and Im wearing flip-flops lined with terry cloth.

I DIDNT CARE! I RAN across the street, careful to avoid oncoming traffic and DASHED into the PO to find a LONGGGG LINE. (There was NO line when I arrived earlier.) BUT... LUCK shined upon me! The woman who I had spoken to before recognized me and called me from the back of the line because she had just seen my package come in. I walked past the other 8 people in line http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h19/dotmom/Emoticons/115034027_3b9e7818d4_o.gif and picked up my package, DASHED back to the car, SPED home, TORE into the house and RIPPED open the gifty Ive been so anxious to receive!

Turns out I have TWO Secret Pals!

Hey everybody! I just want to make sure everybody is checking in with their swap pal if they think their package isn't going to arrive by Monday. I know that the July swap crept up on us really fast and that some people have had shipping issues. Just make sure you get in contact with your partner so they aren't tackling the mail carrier!

If you can't send something this month pleeeeeeease let us know so that we can take care of your pal ASAP. We know stuff happens...just help us out so your pal doesn't get short changed!

This has been a ton o' fun and you guys have been GREAT! This has gone way smoother than I ever could have expected and watching the excitement has been crazy fun. Such nice goodies were sent and the generosity has been amazing to me. You ladies really are the best! :inlove:

Iam glad you enjoyed the goodies.
The sweater wasn't a bad fit at all.
I was going to show Allie the pics but she fell asleep. I'll have to show her tomorrow.
I couldn't find a box so I thought being the enviromentally concious person Iam that I would reuse it :)

BTW Sara there's a little something coming your way from Ms.Allie, please let us know when t arrives. It should be anytime.

As I was apologizing to Kelly, because the not so bright clerk at the post office, accidently stuck the stickers on the wrong boxes, and they returned Kelly's for insuffucent funds. Figures..lol

I have really enjoyed this swap, I love seeing how other people interpret and figure out each other.
Sara had Allie and I down to a tee, we couldn't have asked for anything better :)

I just got back from vacation and much to my surprise when I picked up my mail I had a box!
My pal was DustinaC!!! She totally spoiled me!! The yarn she sent me was 2 skeins of Plymouth Baby Alpaca Brush. Let me tell you this yarn is sooo soft! My best friend and her kiddos were with me when I opened it and her little boy picked it up and just started rubbing his face in it saying "mine".I love the kid and he is my Godson but there is no way he was going to get to keep it! After I wrangled it out of his 3 year old chubby fingers, I noticed all the other goodies Dustina had sent.
She had found a really cool magnetic board to hold my patterns. This is really going to come in handy! She also included an adorable knitting angel and precious little Boyd's bears angel. But wait there's more! I also received knitting girl note cards and a really pretty note pad.

I know I really need to get a digital camera!

Thank you so much Dustina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best!!!
Most of your clues made perfect sense! Except you have to explain to me the Elvis bird and purse clue! :D

So everyone knows what the cryptic clues meant - Pic of a Blue Lagoon - that is the colour. Pic of Marilyn Monroe - well she is pointing her toes (and sorta pointing her hand) so that is the "point" part and she loved to wear Chanel Number 5 so that is the "5" part =D

Gorgeous P5! And that pin is so cute!

Great clues btw.

My pal Sara (wildforyarn) got her yarn, so I'll explain my clues. She got 3 skeins of Cash Iroha. The poem was the English translation of the Japanese Iroha, which is kind of like 'The quick brown fox...'. You can find it if you google it or go to Wikipedia. The picture is of the yarn in black & white - the actual color is dark gold. Johnny CASH, the most obvious clue. The swirl is an altered picture of the basket I bought as a favor from Trader Joe's for her last year - pretty obscure clue.

I also included a pattern for Heartstrings Soft Cables Moebius Scarf, http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/a78.shtm, which she has enough Iroha to make. Did I put in something else? I can't remember!

I got a thank you gift today from Laura & Allie (Laura is Emeraldcutie)! I had them as my swap pal (well, I had Laura and when I found out that Allie knits too I had to send her stuff too).

Laura and Allie sent me this pacakge to thank me and as a "get well" gift because of my two sprianed ankles! Allie made me a card and the gift included chocolate, thank you stickers, makeup case, bath salts, and foot care necessities (and my poor feet need lots of care right now)!!

(I'll take pics later...once I uncover everything)

I went home for lunch and what a pleasant surprise to get a delivery. ^_^

I'm just going by memory, but the first thing I saw was a Veggie cooking magazine. And the first thing I said was "Oh, what a sweetheart!"
Then there was a Vogue knitting mag :inlove:
A very nice letter/note
Some really cute kitty notecards
A box of kid knit something or others (sorry...I'll post the correct item when I get home and can see it)
and the yarn:
2 balls of a wool/acrylic blend that is GORGEOUS colors! Reds, browns, orangish...I    it!!! (can't remember the name)
2 skeins of Ultra Alpaca (or Alpaca Ultra) one blue and one red. More

So, I want to give a big shout out to DRAGONTUSH! Thank you so much!
And I even though I had your real name, I had NO idea who you were on here. :rofling: :rofling:

Thanks again! *mwah*
I'll get pics up asap!

[ETA: The red/brown/orange yarn is Lang Yarns Tosca. And I completely forgot about the 2 stitch markers! One is a wonderful green and the other is a lovely peach. I got some new batteries on my way home from work and did get some pics taken, but I won't be able to post them until Monday. There are no drivers for the camera for x64 bit windows. :verysad: But, I will get them up. I promise!]

It is my bass. So far I can only play a couple songs, but I'm learning. His name is Bobby Lee. It is an Ibanez 4 string. Page 7 of my blog on here has a good pic of Bobby Lee. http://knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12643&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=90
Bobby Lee's rockin'! I would have known it was a bass had I looked a little harder...

That's okay, in the one pic it is hard to see it anyway.

Thank you, I do love my Bobby Lee. He's fun to just kick back and jam with.

Is anyone doing the KAL thing for August like it says in the first post?

Well I know we have a couple of people who are still waiting for their yarn for various reasons from the JULY swap with promises that the goodies are on the way, but as far as the KAL goes, that was always up to you guys. I can't play that one since i have about 43 things already on my needles...lol

If we're doing the KAL, is there an official sign-up (here?) or are we just doing it? I'm in - doing the 3-on-1 scarves! ----- I've already made several things with my Swap yarn. Becka was soooooooo good to me!

Thanks again, Buddy Becka!

I have been so busy that I have not had time to post that I got my yarn last week! I finally got the pics uploaded to the pc, and here they are! There are two 4 oz skeins of Hemp Yarn (55% hemp, 45% cotton), then a skein of SWTC Karaoke (50% soy silk, 50% wool), and then a large hank of yummy soft mystery yarn. In the cute knitting card, I found out that my swap pal is Sara "wildforyarn". Thanks a bunch!!!!!! Oh, and you must tell me what the mystery yarn is, it is so pretty and soft!

Lovely! How does the hemp feel?

Yummy yarns!!!! Yes, how does the hemp feel?!

Well, the hemp feels a bit like cotton (seeing as how its 45% cotton I would kind of expect that lol) but a bit more fiber-ey (?!) than plain cotton, and not super soft but not really rough either. Its hard to explain I guess! Here are a couple close ups to show the texture.

Mary, the "mystery yarn" is a 100% superwash merino wool. It is 360 yards and the estimated guage is 5-6 stiches per inch on size 3-5 needles.

I just bought a bunch of the hemp/cotton yarn and thought I would use it for dishcloths.

Glad to hear you like everything! :D

You know, I was wondering if it was a nice merino! It is so soft and yummy, it makes me want to snuggle with it lol. I haven't decided yet what to do with the hemp, thinking maybe a little summer bag or something like that. I think I will just have to hold off on making anything with the merino though, as I think I will just have to pet it in the hank longer! :rofling: The Karaoke is a neat color and pretty soft in its own right too, and I am thinking in the fall I might make Fetching with it. It should be the right gauge and work up nicely for it.
Thanks again!

I've heard that after washing the Hemp yarn becomes really soft. I have never used it myself and keep meaning to buy some but I remember reading that somewhere.

I got the SWEETEST thank you package from Marce!

She gave me a 2007 "garden" calendar (lovely!), cute "S" sticky notes, a journal, and a matching box that contained little glass magnets, and some really neat earrings that she made with my homespun silk/merino yarn! I think I'll be wearing those when I'm feeling "saucy". :eyebrow:

I've heard that after washing the Hemp yarn becomes really soft.

That's what Ive heard as well... its very much like linen in that way. If you have enough for a tank, I would make something wearable! Maybe swatch and wash first....

I made socks out of Hempathy which is a Lavold yarn - hemp/cotton blend. It's a bit splitty when you knit with it but... it is so lovely after being washed! DH adores the socks and they've become a bit "fluffy" now. The socks were slightly stiff and coarse when I finished them but feel like a different pair now that they've been washed. I am a big hemp/cotton fan now! I don't know if that helps but your yarn is very pretty!

Well, I said that I might make Fetching out of the Karaoke in the fall, but I just couldn't wait to work with it, so in the last few days I just did it!

I don't know if we're supposed to cross post, so I'll just link to the other post.

I finished my Anthropologie-inspired Capelet in one day. :woohoo: What a nice quick and easy knit this was.

Thanks DragonTush!

So I think that everybody has gotten their last package now. If not please let me know. I wanted to tell all the participants THANK YOU so much! This was MUCH easier than I expected and that is because we had a really great group of very giving people!

I want to give a special shout out to all of the people who volunteered to be ambassadors if the need arose. Because we had such a great group we only needed two. I have been in groups that were a nightmare before so only needing two is a wonderful treat. Debbie and Carol thank you SO much for stepping up and being willing to take over where someone dropped the ball! big  for both of you!!

Sandra, thank you so much for your help in getting organized. I woulda lost my mind early without ya!!

You ladies were great. I told Dustina that I was just doing this the one time and turning over the reins to the next person. I am still willing to do that if someone wants to take over but you all made it so easy that I will be happy to do it again sometime soon. Thank you all so much. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

Brenda! You are so sweet but we all should be thanking you and Sandra!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: Thank you so much for organizing this and keeping us all in line! This was so much fun and your hard work is appreciated! :grphug:

I finished a scarf with a hank of Misti Alpaca Chuncky (yummy!) that Andrea gave me! I used the pattern that came with the other hank of the same yarn I bought. The yarn was a deep dark red color so the pattern doesn't show up well. The pink scarf shows the pattern better.

I definitely had a great time and want to thank those ladies that took the time to put it together for us. I'd definitely like to do a "secret santa" just for the month of december. I think it would be lots of fun.

Maybe in the spring (after all the christmas rush is over and paid for) we could do another swap. I had such a blast and learned a lot along the way!

You guys did a GREAT job in organizing our swap. You deserve a vacation!

I won't be able to participate in the Secret Santa, because this is the busiest time of year for me as a church musician. I probably won't be able to do anything until after Easter.

I am sorry I have been so remiss in posting my thank yous! I was out of the country and then off to take my sister to college, and I finally had the time to go through the cd my yarn swap pal gave me to find the clue of who she is..... Jamadian75!

I received the absolute coolist yarn. I will definitely post pics a little later. Super cool is all I have to say. And some great thing to go with it as well as awesome patterns. YAY! I had so much fun. Thanks to the ladies for all the work organizing and keeping it going!
