Hello to All,
I am thinking about starting my first afghan. The pattern is calling for worsted weight (and a lot of it). What would you use? I heard a lot about Plymouth Encore. I need something that can be machine washed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :D
Thanks!

The reason you hear a lot about Plymouth Encore is because it's really a great yarn--machine washable and dryable, readily available, lots of colors and not horribly expensive.

And it washes up even SOFTER than it feels on the skein! Go for the Encore!! :cheering:
I have to vote for encore too. If you click on the little box in KK's signature you can see an afghan made of Encore.

I can't get Encore here. :verysad: I use :oo: :hiding: :oo: RHSS or RH Comfort for afghans.

Just an update: Where I live I have limited resources to different styles of yarn. But today I had to take a trip to the BIG CITY (not huge but bigger than the village I live in). I visited one yarn shop. All I have to say is OH MY GOODNESS! The choices are endless. I was able to get a feel of the Plymouth Encore. It's great. I can't wait to work with it.
Thanks for you help!

im using encore worsted for my king sized blanket (what was i thinking??) and its really great knitting with it. tonnnnnnns of colors and right now, a huge selection of colors are on sale at http://www.yarn.com/
there is a 25.00 minimum, but the skeins are 3.49 each! (usually between 5.25 -6.00 depending on where you get it)
