The Kidlet Tank (http://thekingspottery.com/boogie_kidlet.htm) for my niece's birthday. The tank is knit in Bernat Cotton Tots, color Strawberry. It's a really quick and easy knit, and the yarn is really soft. (I like it so much that I'm in the process of knitting a version of this for myself using the same yarn.)

The photo shows the tank unblocked, and barely visible is a wee cable running down the front center.

That's very nice. I like the color and the single cable. I think single cables look elegant. A kid can be elegant, right?

Thanks all!

I'm not a big fan of pink, usually, but this particular shade is just lovely and screams "girlie." Plus this particular niece is blond with huge blue eyes, so it's a perfect color for her. It's not going to look as cute on me, the one I'm making, but I overbought on yarn (a first!).

Thank you for sharing this tank pattern! Can't wait to make one for my daughter -- I'll have to do the math to re-size it to an 18 mth - 24 mth size, but that shouldn't be too bad.

Love the cable down the front!

Thanks, all, for your encouragement!

How did you do the cable down the center?

I put stitch markers in the sweater dividing it into quarters so I'd know where I was at any given time (center back, sides, center front). So, I used the last three stitches of the second quarter (right side to right front) and the first three of the third quarter (left front to left side), which put the cable center front. It sounds more complicated than it was, actually!

great job Angelia--I love that yarn too!

It's too big...just as I suspected it would be. But it was much appreciated, and the theory is that it will fit her NEXT summer. My SIL said they may just tie the straps together in the back so that she can wear it now; apparently they do that with several of her tank tops.

She's pictured here with my dh, her favorite uncle.

That looks great! Thanks for sharing the link... I can make those up in a jiffy for my older girls, and find a thinner yarn to make one for Little Lissa too!

Cotton Tots claims to be worsted weight, but it isn't; it's actually bulky. I thought I'd adjusted the needle-size and the pattern enough to accomodate the larger stitches, but I was wrong. :( It is a wonderfully soft cotton, though, which is why I stuck with it.

Hope is beautiful and so is her top!! Did it take you 2 of the skeins of Cotton Tops, and did you find it pretty easy to knit with?

Great job! :cheering:

Thanks re the top, and yes, Hope is just adorable!

The top took one full skein and smidge of a second.
