I want to dye some yarn so it comes out a nice raspberry color. The brighter the better. Anyone have any flavor suggestions to get that color?

It does, but what's the difference between the left side and the right side? Did I just miss that?

You could try this too:

I used it and had lots of fun!

The beginning yarn color is the differnce. The top piece of yarn is the natural color , on the left it is an off white and on the right is more of a darker grey khaki color.

Have fun dyeing your yarn!

You can see the starting color of the yarn at the top. The left side is all the colors on cream yarn. The right side is the colors on gray yarn.

Interesting sites..doesn't look like any of them are truly a bright raspberry.

Yeah, and I don't have a lot of yarn to play with. I'll get a couple of different colors and see what I can make out of it. Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Just found this (http://www.ipomoea.org/emma/kadye/kadye.html) today... great pics of koolaid dyeing

More tips and techniques (http://lusciousgracious.com/koolaid.htm)

And here, with a cute kitty picture (http://www.techchick.lunarpages.com/knottie/crafts/koolaid.shtml)

Directions for self striping yarn (http://www.eunnyjang.com/knit/2005/12/techniques_selfstriping_yarn.html) with a REEEEEAAAALLLLLYYYYYYY long hank.

I don't remember seeing either of these links posted before on the forums (but we know how much I use the search feature, so....). Thought they would be helpful for people who hadn't done it before... i'm going to try my first dye job this weekend, I think :-) [/quote]
