I've found fisherman wool for $5 a skein at a local hardware/general store and I'm going to get some but I was wondering if the lanolin in it will keep it from felting. I've only felted once but I really liked it and this yarn is so nice and inexpensive. Thanks.

Lanolin shouldn't keep it from felting....but just in case, knit a swatch and felt it.

Okay, all joking aside... I've never heard of the lanolin in wool being a problem when felting. The only thing I know for sure is that superwash/machine washable wool will NOT felt. If it says hand wash then it should be okay.
