Shall we share a shanty?
YOU CAN'T BE A PIRATE (http://www.mudcat.org/midi/midifiles/pirate.mid) (Don Freed) (link is midi file)
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses an ear;
It drips down your neck, and it falls on the deck,
Till someone shouts, "Oy, what's this 'ere?"
You can't wear your glasses, you can't poll the lasses,
Your friends have to shout so you'll hear;
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses an ear.

CHORUS:
But it's all part of being a pirate,
You can't be a pirate (you can't be, you can't be)
With all of your parts;
It's all part of being a pirate,
You can't be a pirate (you can't be a pirate)
With all of your parts.

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses an eye;
It stings like the blazes, it makes you pull faces,
You can't let your mates see you cry.
A dashing black patch will cover the hatch,
And make sure that the socket stays dry;
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses an eye.

(chorus)

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses a hand;
It spurts and it squirts and it jolly well hurts,
Pain only a pirate could stand.
The fash'nable look is a nice metal hook,
But now you can't play in the band;
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses a hand.

(chorus)

Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses a leg;
It hurts like the dickens, your pace never quickens,
Hopping around on a peg.
Ask your sweetheart to marry, but too long you've tarried,
'Cause now you can't kneel down and beg;
Being a pirate is all fun and games,
Till somebody loses a leg.

(chorus)

It makes me quite irate -
It hardly seems fair,
You can't be a pirate -
If you are all there!

Pass the Rum!
ETA: Sorry, I don't remember the whole verse about losing a "Whatsit" ;)

Arrrgh! It's Me Own Piratey Tale!
The Story of Sandybeard Pirate.

Once upon a time there was a pirate named Sandybeard--the bungiest, scurviest, treasure chest that ever sailed the 3 million Seas! After a stinky decade of swashbuckling, she sailed back to Horny Island to recover her buried treasure. Finally, after she stabbed for 5 fathoms, she stumbled upon a large 'X' in the sand. Sandybeard began to tickle down to the treasure. 'Avast!' she said. When she opened the treasure hook, Sandybeard found that it was full of mateys. 'Arrr!' she said. Then, Sandybeard got back into her cannon and pillaged off into the sunset.

Humble, that's some cute dog!

For those of you who feel pirattitude is a 365 day/year state of mind, I offer the following: The Pyrates Way Live 365 Station (http://www.live365.com/stations/pyratesway)!

I found the station this morning (too late for TLAP day), but I'm enjoying it today as I work at my desk (hey, it pays to be your own boss, what can I say). Lots of J. Buffett, Pirates soundtracks, and celtic goodies. There's also an "uncensored" track from Robin Williams about Scotsmen and Golf, so if you think the other inmates of your cube farm may object, stick to the headphones. It's hilarious though.
