While knitting cables,do I knit or purl on the wrong side or should I use cable needles on the wrong side too?Need help plz!I've tried knitting cables but unsuccessfully!

Just purl the purls and knit the knits on the WS; cables are done on the front (at least as far as I've ever seen!).

Have you watched Amy's video (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/advanced_techniques/) on working cables? It helped me a lot when I first started with them.

And the pattern will tell you which rows to do the cables on and what stitch to use.

I have seen a scarf pattern that cables both sides. I'm not sure but I think it was on knittingpatterncentral but don't quote me on that :teehee:

Usually, if that's the case, it's a ribbed cable, composed of both knits and purls, rather than a cable composed of knit stitches offset by purls. It looks different from a traditional cable and does translate to both sides of the garment.
