I am working on a simple garter-stitch bag as my first project. To make the strap it says, "Cast off knitwise 60 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows. 12 sts." I cannot find anything that tells me how to "cast off". I know how to cast on and I know how to bind off. I must be missing something or need to understand something. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated!

Cast off means the same as bind off. Any other questions? Shoot away.

I think British or other European patterns tend to use "cast off" what we call "bind off" in American patterns. Means the exact same thing.

Why don't we call casting on "binding on" then? :?? ;)

Don't feel alone I didn't know what 'Bind Off' was because as was said in England we say cast off.

I think it makes sense to say cast off since you cast on :teehee:

Mind you cast off sounds like something you might do in a boat :teehee: no I havn't been at the wine  :roflhard:
