Rowan Big Wool is a super bulky yarn. I imagine that the gauge is 7 1/2 to 8 stitches per 4 inches.
Here (http://www.yarndex.com/yarn_by_info.cfm?info_type=1&info_id=51) is an assortment of super bulky yarns according to www.yarndex.com .

Well, it sounds like you're all set, but I thought I would mention the possibility of doubling a lighter-weight yarn. A neat discussion on how to determine gauge and new yardage requirements when using a yarn double-stranded can be found here. (http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/index.php?p=189)
