Merino wool is from a merino sheep--a particular breed. Peruvian wool? Probably from a 'regular' sheep that lives in Peru. There is a noticeable difference between merino and 'regular' wool--the merino is much softer.

Got it. I thought merino wool was a way the wool was being processed. Thanks for the explanation!
