hi there,

i have a dilemma that i need to handle carefully...

someone i know is wanting to hold a sock knitting class and insisting upon using 1 circular needle. i have debated with her and she says she has done it before, but i don't see how, but she has more experience than me and i haven't done so many socks... she is selling 12" addi circulars for this project.... i know there's magic loop, but that wouldn't work on 12" needles.

can someone give me a sure verdict so i can argue with her more forcefully? i don't want her to be embarrassed for her class... thanks so much!

There are tiny stretchy circs that are for socks, but not a regular 12" addi, unless you're making socks for a horse or something!! :teehee:

I've knit socks on my 12 inch addis' before. it's a bit of a struggle for the first few rows to get the sock cuff stretched around the needle, but it all works out great in the end.

thanks, jax! what i'm having a hard time figuring out though too is like the heel flap and gussets and then the foot gets even narrower than the heel... i just don't get any of it. that all works out okay?

it works out just fine, if you remember to pay attention to your stitch markers...lol
