Maybe this is old news, but I just came across these see-through shoes on a german website for knitting supplies and got a big kick out of them (no pun intended):

Here's the link, but it's all in german. I can help with the translating or can send them a mail to ask them if they ship internationally if your friend wants. Just let me know.

This (http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID4803327P4195010-Clogs/Clear-Clogs-THEYRE-HERE.aspx)place has the clogs too. I have been wanting to get them for a while but i fret about the sizing. I have wide feet and i think they won't fit right. I haven't been able to find any others out in the world either.

I thought they had some boots too at one point...

Do you remember jellies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jelly_shoes)from the 80s? They looked weird, but I remember them being really, really comfortable on my wide feet. If those clogs are anything like them, I bet they'll conform to your feet very nicely. I had several pairs, including pumps, and they were so comfortable!

lol Jellies were the most ridiculous shoes ever made but i loved them!....and so did my mom because they were super cheap...lol.

i don't know i just can't help thinking that they will already be snug and then wearing them with socks would make them unpleasant....maybe i will try anyway after i have knit more socks........or even finished that first one i started :teehee:

Hey, my LYS has these! I'm not a fan of clogs, and I understand that these particular ones are kind of uncomfortable, but still, they're cool.

I have a pair of slip ons that I specifically bought three or so years ago to show off my socks. They were part of a close out on some knitting site in the US. Sorry I can't be of more help on them. Here's some in kid's sizes

I wonder how sweaty your feet would get in them, though.
I saw a post where someone took a pic and there was condensation after wearing them for a little while - ewww! Stinky feets! :ick:

I just happened to see these (http://cgi.ebay.com/Clear-REGIA-Jelly-Boots-Sock-Knitting-Womens-10-10-5_W0QQitemZ220042113741QQihZ012QQcategoryZ1362QQrd Z1QQcmdZViewItem) on ebay so I thought I'd add a link if anyone's interested.

:roflhard: Jellies brings back memories!! I lived in the things till I was probably 10, I looooved my jellies, and thought they were 'so pretty' in all their glittery plastic glory, even when the toes started to brake out and I had to get a new pair .... now I want new jellies just for the nostalgia. The way fashions are going, probably won't be too long till they come back again...

I do remember "bare traps," but I think those were a bit earlier, like late 70s. They were wood on the bottom and leather on top. They were were great for kicking boys in elementary school -- you know, the ones you had a crush on. :teehee: Hey, anyone remember Famolares?

I thought I had found some of the adult boots, but when I called them this afternoon, they told me they are out of them and that they can't get anymore. Apparently, they have been discontinued. I ordered some of the clogs from knitters dream today instead. I love to wear slide on shoes, so I am hoping these work out okay. They had a few of the children boots, but not many sizes, no more adult boots.

So if anyone finds the adult boots in the US, I would appreciate knowing where, if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks,

Pat
