KH's second anniversary is November 4th! In honor of this occasion, your mission is to

KNIT TWO

Knit two of anything... perfect weather for two socks, gloves, clogs or mittens!

try a DOUBLE KNIT hat!

Add two colored stripes to your current project!

Knit a felted bag with TWO straps!

A scarf that uses TWO skeins of mmmmmmmmmalibrigo!(it will be about 9 feet long.... ask how I know.....)

A willie warmer with two "pom poms" :teehee:

Add two pockets to your fall jacket!

Knit a swatch in two colors!

It's, two, two knits in one!!!!

Have another idea? (or two??) Post them here.... be creative! The original goal of these monthly challenges was to incorporate the challenge into your current project, so don't feel like you have to start something new--find a creative way to add TWO to whatever you're working on now.

Happy knitting! xxx

My one year KH anniversary is on November 1st. I think I did about four things for my first ever KAL, which was last November's challenge.

Woo hoo! Yeah for 2 years of KH! :cheering:

I'll be working on mittens for my kids.

I already have these felted mittens (http://www.knitwitts.com/item/AC_17_Snow_Country_Felt_Mitten/912/c214) on the needles for my son.

I also want to try the felted mittens in this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1931499330/ref=pd_rvi_gw_1/102-6604688-6680156) book.

And depending how everything is turning out I may also try "regular" mittens using this (http://www.knitwitts.com/item/Ann_Norling__8/905/p2c79) pattern or this (http://www.needlenook.on.ca/free/nn106.pdf) pattern.

Hehe you gals and your willie warmers, I suppose I could knit one, but mind you I would NOT model it for you....after all don't want to scare you away. Though I will probably get in on this challenge as well.

Hooray - a KAL I can actually join! :cheering:

I'm in the midst of Christmas knitting, and I had already planned to tackle a pair of socks for my dad. Got the yarn for that yesterday.

I also bought TWO skeins of Noro Silk Garden that I want to use to make a purse for a friend, but I haven't quite decided on which one yet. If I have some yarn left over I would like to make some sort of accessory (like a necklace) with it to match. I think I've narrowed it down to the following patterns:

http://www.jenanne.com/patternsilkpurse.htm
(I would make it a little longer since the pattern only calls for one skein)

http://www.recycledsilk.com/triangular.pdf
(I would need to make it a little smaller than the one they have)

http://www.yarnmagazine.com.au/v1%20sample/patterns/wintergarden.html
(I have some leftover merino wool in a coordinating color I could use for the base)

I really think I'm leaning towards the recycled silk bag, though, but I'm welcome to any opinions. Ah, decisions, decisions! :teehee:

This one will be easy. I am 1/4 of the way through on the 2nd of a pair of socks for my friend (the photographer of my pics) and about to cast on for another pair for another friend and then yet another pair for my stepfather, whose feet are always cold, though he lives in So California. :?? AND, I have a bottle of wine so that when I have dinner tonight, I can have *two* glasses and knit.

I think I might join in on this one. I'm making a pair of socks that requires knitting with two strands instead of one. I already made sock one of two, and now I got to get the other one done then I start on a pair for me. They take no time at all!

I'm working on a 2-color baby blanket. It's a really simple slip-stitch pattern with two different colors of Jelly Beenz.

Here's the yarn:

I did baby socks. I had some Magic Stripes left over and let me tell you, the colorway is positively OBNOXIOUS. I can't decide of I love them or hate them. At least Darby didn't mind wearing them!

I finished the first of my scarves for christmas presents, it is also my first scarf (or anything) i have knitted :cheering: . If my denise set would come, i would start another one. I found a pattern using my size 11 needles (the only size i have right now :teehee: ) but i will have to look at several videos on here to be able to do it. everyone told me i should try something more challenging :X: , so i guess i will. I can always frog it if i mess up, right? :frog: and i have you guys to ask if i need help, so here i go!!! :out:

H - LYS is Chix and Kelly is our mutual!! You should come knit with us soon! And BTW - I finally found my other skein so I've cast on sock #2. I've decided I'm not as fond of these toe-up socks, but I'll finish them anyway. The toe and the heel don't seem as neat and tidy as the others I have done

Thank you. I dropped a stitch on the row I just finished, and now I will have to figure out how to fix it. I've frogged them once, and I don't want to have to do it again. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hildegard_von_Knittin
11-12-2006, 10:40 PM
Check out AMy'[s video here (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/misc.php) about fixing mistakes. DON'T frog back for one dropped stitch, it's an easy fix. When I notice a dropped stitch, I immediately put a saftery pin or one of the "padlock" type stitch markers through it, so it doesn't drop down anymore and I can keep knitting until I get to it.

I think I'm about 2/3 through with the two-color baby blanket, but I haven't measured it in a couple of days...

Did I ever post any pics? :?? Oh yeah, I put 'em in my blog... here they are again.

I think it might have measured about 6-8 inches at this point:
http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m239/acehudson1/CheckerboardBlanket/OneThird.jpg

And here's a closeup of the checkerboard pattern:
http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m239/acehudson1/CheckerboardBlanket/CheckboardDetail.jpg

My goal is a 31-inch square, and I'm pretty sure I'll get it done by the end of the month. If I remember I'll take another shot of it for posting this weekend.

I really like the way it's turning out all squishy & soft.

I did finish my son's felted mittens in time! :cheering:

But last week my digital camera's SD memory card had a catastrophic meltdown when I was planning to take the FO picture, and I lost about 100 pictures (including the "before" pix of the mittens pre-felting). :pout:

I got a more than a little side-tracked last week trying to recover all those lost pix (Halloween, FO's, DD at 3 mo., Thanksgiving...). I'll have to remember to take a picture of DS with the mittens this week. He just loves them! They keep his hands toasty warm outside at recess. :D
