I was wondering if y'all would share your favorite washcloth pattern with me? I'm a beginner knitter and would like to make a bunch for Christmas.

Go to the Free Patterns page on this website and search in household items - there are lots of dishcloth patterns. I personally love the lacy mock cable and grandma's favorite. Grandma's favorite looks best when done in varigated colors b/c it is a plain design - however, it holds up to my scrubbing and cleaning.
Also, if you be Sugar 'n Cream cotten to make dishcloths they always have fun patterns on them. One of the patterns I have made people that is always a hit is a bath mitt. They are great for little kids and adults alike.

Best of Luck

My favorite is the simplest one. This isn't a good photo, but you can get the idea.

Thanks! I'm thinking more along the lines of a facial washcloth ... is it easy to modify a dishcloth pattern to make it smaller (sounds easy in theory, but I haven't done it yet).

Under free patterns I've done the one with a flower, it's very pretty.

Oh, thank you, I wrote that pattern :teehee:
LoAnnie, can I post a picture of the Flower Power washcloth that you knit in the Knitters Gallery (http://whimsicalknitting.blogspot.com/2006/06/knitters-gallery.html) on my blog (http://whimsicalknitting.blogspot.com/)? I have this so I can showcase other knitters interpretations and FOs when they are nice enough to choose one of the my designs!
