pattern confusion

I just did my first decrease row on a beret. The next line on the pattern says "work for 3/4 in." I am confused as to whether I keep doing the decrease row or I just knit. Can someone set me straight on this. thanks :??

You should just work the stitches you have for 3/4" without the decreases.
