Increase question

I'm making a sweater and I'm almost to the upper body shaping part (back). It says to increase 1 stitch on each edge. All the patterns I've ever done have always told me what kind of increase to do, so I'm not sure what would be the right one to use. Help!

I'd probably do a knit 1, M1 on the first edge and then when there is one stitch left, M1, k1.
